The fact is that politicians attempt to buy votes. Anyone who votes to cut taxes is having their vote bought. Those who liked my comment are exactly that type of people. It is one of the worst parts of our political system. Instead of mentioning what the problems are and how we'll solve them, politicians just mention that they'll throw money and/or favors at their supporters. And that gets votes better than just about any other tactic.
