Yup DT's
Been there done that. They go away after a few weeks
how long is a few weeks? it didnt really get bad until about 3 days ago. will it go on for 1 week? 4 weeks? will i always have the temptation of smoking a cigarette even months down the line? That is what I'm worried about. The mental strain is killing me.
Most withdrawl symptoms are gone in about 3 weeks, but they also lessen with time until then. Its always worst right after you quit, particularly if you go cold turkey.
I'm also trying to quit. Hang in there!
Edit: Part of the addiction (IMHO) is the habit of going out for a smoke when taking a break from work, having a cup of coffee, etc. You need to fill in the gaps in your life that were previously taken up by cigarettes; eat an apple with your morning coffee instead of sucking down a cigarette, go for a walk when taking breaks, etc.
Edit #2: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, your body will also react badly to both stimulants and depressants during the withdrawl time... go easy on the coffee, tea, alcohol, etc, or skip them all together.
