13 days now. it was my new years resolution to quit, just like it has been for the past 6 years or so. This time, i'm actually following through with it. I'm 22 years old, and been smoking for almost 10 years now (no kidding)! The first few days were tough, mentally, but now, i can really feel the physical part of the addiction kicking in, or i think so anyway. I cant stop shaking, my legs go for hours. I am typing this now with so many errors i've hit the backspace key god knows how many times already. I just feel like my thoughts are driving at 365 mph. Is this normal for somebody who is just quitting smoking? I feel like i'm comming off crack or heroin or something.

i'm wondering if a drink or two will take my edge off...

Yeah that's normal, especially after 10 years. I wouldn't have a drink to take the edge off. That's like replacing one addiction with another lol.

Yeah, it's normal. Don't drink to take the edge off. Alcoholism is a far worse addiction than cigs!

And from what I've read, coming clean off heroin and crack isn't as bad, egads.

i quit as well, have smoked off and on for 10 years now.

i quit on satuday, so it's been 5 days. am doing the nicorette gum and it helps.

i would love to have a cig now, but know in the end, it;s not worth it.

only times i miss smoking are after a big meal and when i am drunk.

the last time i quit was for over a year, until some biatch fvcked with my mind and I turned to something that is always there.

Stick with it. You'll definately feel better in the long run. I traded cigs for Altoids gum.

I'd just cut down on the amount you smoke per day, to go from a stick to a pack to zero.

i dont expect drinking would help so id advise against it

Drinking definately triggers a nicotine craving for me. I really have to watch myself when I drink.

Man I hear ya.. I am on day 65 or something.. Just watch out for what I call "Mind Trickery".. I would often find myself saying.. I can have just one, nobody will know, and I wont have any more..

I realized, that I wasnt trying to quit for ANYONE ELSE but me.. So why would I care if nobody knew if I had one, I would still know. Your body will get pretty tricky here in the next couple days to get you to have one.. I suggest using the patch, worked pretty good for me man.

Do some research and see how much healthier you are just by not smoking for 13 days.. Then keep it going!

Good luck and stick with it!
