I wanted to upgrade now and be happy with a new computer
but while pricing out and reading some
it becomes apparent that before this year ends.. pretty much anything i put together now will become obsolete
so would this be worth it?
My idea was to build this for now than upgrade to Phenom because apparently Phenom will run AM2+ and will be backwards compatible with AM2 boards
Mobo: 64.99
Bioforce T550
Processor: 65.99
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane
Mem: 60.99
Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Video: 249.99
GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
HDD: 79.99
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
PSU: 69.99
XION Supernova Modular 600w
Total: 591.94
I was also thinking about doing the same thing with intel setup but if penryn runs on 45nm that means a completely new chipset correct?
