Is "time travel" possible?

Why?

It is entirely possible that we have not seen any time travelers because it is possible but extremely unlikely that a time traveler would ever find this specific time line, or it may not even be possible to find this exact timeline.
Consider the problem of time travel if time is not linear but planular. You could travel sideways in time, which might mean to a space-time defined by the cause of an even that did not happen in your timeline, and infinite series of possible time/places that (for you) never actually existed, but might be indistinguishable to you.
