Ana is saying he isn't. Similar to what Frum, Kristol, etc. are doing trying to distance Trump from their version of the GOP.

I'd say his efforts towards deregulation, immigration, and privatization all fall squarely in the typical republican platform. The tax plan was also 100% GOP.

Also, he was chosen through their primary process and won (one way or another) and thus as president he is the leader of their party.

What say you, conservatives? Is he your leader? Or will you also disavow him?

The fly in their ointment is their philosophy of selfishness. They will tell you that it isn't such. But it is, as one would infer from aspects such as the supremacy of the Individual over the State, Freedom defined mostly to allow as much economic freedom of the few even if it cannot be infinite -- as they wish it.

You could say that our politics today is still the centuries-old dialogue over property rights, freedom and justice. If they think their freedom is threatened or diminished, they will ignore problems of justice. If they think that property rights begin and end with possession by individuals, they will choke you with their industrial waste, and threaten your health -- therefore -- your freedom.

They'd rather young men and women die in another unnecessary war, just to boost the economy with defense spending and crush the ability of the federal tier to meet mandates for domestic spending directed at domestic problems. Problems? We don't see any problems! The problems are ISIS! The problems are North Korea! The problems are globalism!. The problems are Clinton, Obama, and anyone who did their best in public service.

Today, Trump in his loudest most abrasive voice, met supporters in Western Pennsylvania. He was touting their patriotism and their commitment as "the American People."

I have a theory that Trumpies hate America. They hate America because of its evolution through the last century and into the present. And they hate an America that has the rest of us in it.

So Trump is their tantrum response.

They don't have a notion about slavery and freedom in the context of market concentration., The company store. The one and only oil producer, or more monopolistic enterprises. After all -- its the "free enterprise" and market thereof. Not the competitive, level playing field that makes profit harder and abundance greater.
