You can't fight ideologies. How'd that work out for us in Vietnam?

The best/logical thing to do is monitor the threats and safeguard yourself if you become a target. Clearly, we are already targets of ISIL... But they are an "army" of 30k versus the millions we have.

You'd think if it actually was super easy to suicide bomb us here in the US, they'd be doing it already. I mean, Al Qaeda managed to hijack a bunch of planes and caused mass destruction... then.... nothing from then on out. They dragged us into a war (the point of 9/11) and that was it.

Fact of the matter is it's not that easy for them to pull off stuff like that again, or they simply just don't want to.

I tried explaining this to my fiancee last night. An idea doesn't die from a bomb. We of all people should know this. Our idea of a liberal representative democracy instead of a monarchy couldn't be killed by British muskets and cannons.
