@raildogg, you raise a really interesting point with the following, and might have actually damaged your own argument:

So America wants to dominate the entire Western hemisphere, including holding Cuba hostage under sanctions for many years, and will not tolerate any Russian or Chinese military influence on Mexico, but America has no problem putting NATO on countries that Russia sees as part of its influence.

I think we all agree that the United States could militarily dominate Cuba on any given Tuesday, but instead has not done so, instead choosing to place sanctions.

I don't think we'd have nearly the same issue with Russia here if they had chosen sanctions of Ukraine over annexation of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine's eastern provinces.

For the record, I am personally all for normalizing US relations with Cuba.

Sanctions that have harmed the country economically for decades. That is not harming the people?

This sanctions warfare is used by US because it dominates the world economy. Russia does not. The US dollar is weaponized, US trade is weaponized, Swift banking system, etc. All weaponized to serve the interests of the US and its allies. Russia has been thrown off this system now and is moving towards different systems. But really, this has shown the weakness of the US as well. If the countries in the world move away from the US dollar and financial systems, they cannot be dominated and subdued (but easier said than done, right?). So you will see more of this happen because countries have seen what the US has done to Russia, Iran and many other countries. They prefer to not be dominated by the US.

BRICS, SCO are expanding rapidly. BRICS is not five countries anymore. Egypt, Saudi Arabia are members now and this will keep growing. This is all designed to have a group that can stand up to American dominance. I am not saying anything bad about America - great country, great opportunity for people to come, it is a dream come true for many people of the world. Ellis Island, etc. But America's foreign policy is a disaster, sorry to say.

As for SCO, they have nine members plus observers and partners. That is a lot of countries. This did not exist decades ago but we can see the world is now going multi-polar. Uni-polar is done.

And thank you for your kindness for not militarily dominating Cuba. You are too kind. Let me tell that to Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, Libyans, Vietnamese, Laotians. They wished you were this kind to them.

Glad we see eye to eye on this.

No mental gymnastics. But are you aware of the Monroe Doctrine? Please you guys need to look it up. Countries have geopolitical red lines. This might give you an idea of Russia's red lines. But then again, I love it when people bring Russia into Israel thread so we can continue this in the Russia thread.

"While not specifically the Monroe Doctrine, Alexander Hamilton desired to control the sphere of influence in the Western Hemisphere, particularly in North America,[failed verification] but this was extended to the Latin American colonies by the Monroe Doctrine.[9] But Hamilton, writing in the Federalist Papers, was already wanting to establish the United States as a world power and hoped that it would suddenly become strong enough to keep the European powers outside of the Americas, despite the fact that the European countries controlled much more of the Americas than the U.S. herself.[8] Hamilton expected that the United States would become the dominant power in the New World and would, in the future, act as an intermediary between the European powers and any new countries blossoming near the U.S.[8]"

So America wants to dominate the entire Western hemisphere, including holding Cuba hostage under sanctions for many years, and will not tolerate any Russian or Chinese military influence on Mexico, but America has no problem putting NATO on countries that Russia sees as part of its influence. This is very troubling attitude because you only care about your own interests while not even respecting any other country's, especially a former superpower's, interests. Russia has allowed Sweden into NATO, no problem. But it says it won't let Ukraine or Georgia in and has gone to war over it. You don't like it and almost everyone here doesn't like it. So what? Great powers have these weird policies, just like America has the policy to not only dominate the Western hemisphere, but basically the entire globe with its 800 military bases. Russia has a military base in Syria at the request of the Syrian government.

Iraqis voted to kick the US out but the US is still there. The Iraqis don't like it either but does America care? Obviously not. Same thing with Syria. America occupies a third of Syria illegally. The Syrians and Iraqis want America out but of course that won't happen. Sovereignty, right guys?! LOL what a joke. US has no respect for sovereignty and people here will defend this while only attacking Russia.

The problem is that Western people are too one sided and cannot even acknowledge that there are other powerful countries too and they have their own interests. Letting Ukraine not part of NATO would have been better but if you are going to train them and arm them, since 2015, you need to put them into NATO asap. It was a huge policy failure of America to not bring Ukraine into NATO asap after arming and training it since 2015. This could have prevented this war because Russia is not going to attack NATO. Again, I don't favor or reject any of this as my opinion but I am showing you what happened. It's not up to me to decide these things but we can look at them from a more or less objective point of view.

If it were up to me, I would reduce military spending of the world by 99%. This would end homelessness for the most part too, by the way.
Blah blah blah. I do not support some of the ways America has and is treating Cuba. I also realize Russia here is fucking evil.

These two things can exist at the same time. Your morals are just more situational. As in, they are convenient when needed and not so convenient when not needed.

Economic warfare is terrible too. America used economic warfare on Iraq in the 90s and 500,000 children died because of that.

Russia is fighting in its backyard, saying they are protecting their existence because of NATO. They don't want NATO missiles on their border, along with many tanks, especially since Ukraine is a great launching ground for invading Russia. History has shown this, Hitler, Napolean, etc. Simple, that's their reasoning. I don't expect people here to understand any of this so OK. America almost went to nuclear war over missiles in Cuba. And imagine if China put a military base on the Mexican border, I would expect America to go to war with China. But Russia cannot have their interests though because hegemony is only reserved for America.

I do not get what you are trying to point out in that mombo jumbo of a post. Are you implying that 4ussia had a right to invade Ukraine because Ukrain wanted to join NATO? That sounds like a dumb argument.

You are making good points here, warfare is bad but the powerful wage warfare in many different ways. They use political warfare, covert warfare, color revolutions, economic warfare, etc. We saw the color revolution in Ukraine in 2014 (Maidan Revolution). This is warfare too.

If the West really wanted to bring Ukraine into NATO, they should have done it very quick rather than waiting for Russia to invade. Russia has said before that they won't tolerate Ukraine into NATO so if the West wanted them in NATO so bad, why wait so many years? The West started arming Ukraine in 2015 and also training. Why wait? Some say that the West uses Ukraine as a trap to attack Russia with. Instead of losing their military, they are sacrificing Ukraine's military. So it depends on which side of the story you listen to, right? Thanks for the side comments though. And clearly you are not biased by typing Russia like that.

Israel at this point is a very radical society, a very extremist society.

This level of inhumanity is something else, especially since it is against civilian population with a lot of young people and women.

NY Times is complicit in trying to justify Israel's genocide by promoting the Hamas sexual violence story:

Now it is shown that the writer is a very racist person who is very anti-Palestinian. Why would they do this?

This writer liked a post about the 40 beheaded babies, which has been debunked.

Old article but America and NATO have been "arming up" Ukraine since 2015. The US had had a close military relationship with Ukraine since then because it sees Russia as evil enemy.

"Both U.S. and NATO officials have been warning that the future may hold increasing confrontations with Russia. Brown acknowledges that this is a relatively small training exercise. But he says there will be a multiplier effect when these national guardsmen go back to teach their comrades what they've learned."

It shows that the Americans have viewed Russia as a legitimate threat to Ukraine, wrongfully or rightfully, at least since 2015 but I think earlier. That is why the Maidan coup happened. Anyway, the Americans clearly saw Russia as a military threat to Ukraine and have been training, arming and providing intel to Ukraine for all these years. And we have no idea how close Ukraine came to full NATO membership. This was a very dangerous thing to do. You are going to arm and train a country to fight Russia, and you knew Russia did not want Ukraine in NATO, and yet you did not have them join NATO for all these years. Reckless foreign policy of America it seems.

There has to be a background to this story not just a bunch of lies regarding Oct 7. Even if you only look at Oct 7, Hamas went after the Israeli military mainly and took hostages because THOUSANDS of Palestinians are suffering in Israeli jails. In order to get them released, they felt the need to take hostages. And if you look at the footage, the burned and totally obliterated cars show that it was Israeli helicopters that fired on those cars and killed a lot of civilians. Hamas does not have the capability to do that level of damage to the cars and people. The people at the concert, who were partying a few miles from a concentration camp, well a lot of them were killed by the Israeli helicopters. It reacted very disorderly and chaotically.

Palestinians are brainwashed? No, they are not. There are now generations that have been born in concentration camps - generations. That is all they have known. That is not brainwashing because you are in a concentration camp and you will resist. That is a very disgusting thing you just said.

If Israel is at war with Hamas, then why are civilians more than 95% of the ones being killed? At least on Oct 7, Hamas largely went after Israeli military. None of your arguments are making sense.

sure , whatever floats your boat

I can't help but think that something might have encouraged this to happen, now what was it... oh yeah:

A complete over-reaction of course, what's a bit of friendly invasion between friends. Clearly the West has its knickers in a twist over nothing.

Good article investigating the NY Times rape story a couple of months ago

Part-way through; I feel like I'm going to have to come back to that another time, Schwartz's story is like reading a meandering narrative of someone who's been radicalised and hasn't fully come to terms with it yet. From what I understand so far, she went in with a conclusion and bent over backwards to find evidence to support it, and ignored obvious evidence to the contrary.

-What the actual fuck, is this a joke?

"Hey we have to Berlin airlift supplies to the Palestinians past our allies who are killing them cause they won't let the aid through"

WHAT THE FUCK

Israeli civilians recently broke through an IDF checkpoint into Gaza likely intent on doing bad things. The Israeli government is paralyzed. To call this a shit show is an insult to shit shows.
