Issues after installing 9800 gt

I installed the 9800 gt last night, replaced a 7600 gt, now my sound is stuttering, and games are taking 3-4 times longer to start than they did with the 7600 gt.

When they do start they run pretty bad, worse than with the 7600, they look good but the graphics hitch.

I have installed the newest drivers for the card and I went back a couple months and installed them. I removed all the old drivers with the uninstal tool in safe mode, and I used drivers sweeper to make sure all drivers were gone.

I am using windows 7, kind of at a loss for what to try now, my temps are fine and the psu is more than enough also.

Anyone have any ideas before I format and see if that fixes it?

what does the rest of your system look like including psu??

That sucks man....This is obviously something that you would check cause youre not retarded, but is it seated in the pci- slot correctly? It sounds like its not even putting out graphics to be honest, just running through the board. Idk about the sound thing though that doesnt make sense. Good luck.

500 watt psu, asrock dual sata 2 board with a athlon 64 x2 4200 cpu. 2 hard drives 1 dvd drive. 2gb of ram This is the power efficient card also.

It's seated good also. I have the latest bios also

I checked the video card fan settings and made sure they werent at the default 30% also
