I didn't really follow the point that you were trying to make in that first paragraph, but this conversation isn't about my credentials. You don't need a Ph.d in Afro-American studies to pick up on stereotypes that you have witnessed with your own eyes and ears.
Obviously, it's not a very flattering stereotype, so of course you, as a black male, are expected to react the way that you are reacting right now -- with outrage and indignation. Is it a fair stereotype? Perhaps not, but just because you object to it, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I didn't create it, my friends didn't create it and I never even explicitly stated that I agreed with it, but yet here we are. It's out there.
Sure, every black guy thinks Beyonce is the pinnacle of hotness. They all crave thin waists and fat asses. Nobody is saying that if you line up Beyonce next to a fat chick, black guys will choose the fat chick. But the stereotype is that these black men would gladly settle for thick thighs and a beer gut as long it it still includes that juicy fat ass. Does this make them any different than men of other races? Only in so much that other men don't have that stereotype associated with them.
In the end, it doesn't really matter how much you know about black men or even that you are a black man yourself, you can't change the stereotype. I mean I guess you can try to, which I suppose is what you're trying to do in your post, but at the end of the day, people will still believe what they believe (right or wrong, ignorant or not).
