It's a sad day

No gaming till CHristmas.

Well, I sold my X800XL today so I will be without a video card until Christmas, when I will be able to install the 7800GT my GF got me for Christmas. I have been banned from touching it before CHristmas. She went so low as to hide it from me.

Anyways, I just beat Quake 4 today and I am saddened that I wont be able to game at all for over a month. Especially when COD2 is sitting on my desk.

When I get back to gaming it will be with an awesome card at least.

She already bought me the 7800GT already yes.

She is a good GF for buying me a 7800GT for Christmas! All it cost me was a $200 Tiffany's bracelet for her. Good trade off IMO, she's a keeper!

I agree, she's definately a great card with some life left in her!

Make sure you stay with her until christmas. Then say no givebacks for gifts .

It's very difficult not to go hunting for it since I think I know where it is. The wait is gonna kill me though. I guess I'll have to do homework instead of gaming.

I recently made the upgrade from a X800XL to a 7800GT. Its a HUGE DIFFERENCE. I was shocked by how much my FPS went up. (especially in SM3.0 games).

Don't get me wrong, I loved my X800XL - but I got $225 for it and got my 7800gt for $330 = $105 upgrade Plus I got COD2 Free through EVGA!

I just couldn't pass it up

Exactly why I got my 7800GT. Good thing there is a Tiffany's store near me. My GF tells me they have some great deals right now.

I'm glad to hear from a couple of X800XL users that they are happy with their upgrade to the GT! It was hard for me to let go of the X800XL, it played evry game at every setting I asked it to.

I always try and buy mid-high end cards so when I have to upgrade in 6 months, my wallet wont take a huge hit. Makes it much easier to upgrade when you're only spending $250-$300 rather than $500-$600 every upgrade cycle.

I only sold my X800XL for $175, but the bracelet me GF wants is only ~$200 so if my math is correct, I got my 7800GT for only $15! My B-Day is Christmas Eve and I have reliable intelligence that says Mrs. Claus is going to be leaving an Artic Cooling Silencer in my stocking to go with the 7800GT.
