I need recommendation on OCing tools for this card.

I don't know what ppl are using these days for nVidia cards.

plain old coolbits, you can go much farther with rivatuner....however not likely substanable beyond what coolbits would auto-overclock with these cards.

coolbits is the first thing come to mind. It's simple and easy to use.
Let run auto-detect first. Or shoot for 700/1600

I thought that Shimmering can be reduced by not enbaling HQ and disabling all 3 opts, but just disabling ani mipmap opt and putting texture clamp to clamp?

685/1600 solid here, no issues except the 3700+ is a huge bottleneck in benches...



I need rivatuner, as coolbits stopped @ 800 mhz on the ram, maxed out the slider!

Coolbits only allows up to 800 for memory max?

I haven't gotten that far yet, but that's as far as the slider goes.

9200 in 3dMark05 for me @ 685/1600, that C2D is pretty awesome.

I dunno

The only nVidia cards i've ever owned before...well, that i kept anyway...were 6800GTs.

So i don't really know much about OCing them.

So there's:
Coolbits
Rivatuner
Powerstrip

What else do you guys recommend?

And if someone has links to the newest Rivatuner & Powerstrip, please post away.

Sorry, I forgot I am running my GF's 4200 x2 right now

I am going to use rivatuner, I have used that in the past. I haven't used power strip since oc'ing my 8500 way back in the day!

I was using Q settings as well. I am severely CPU limited with a 2.2 ghz x2, evidently.

*ATI Tool cause my computer to reboot in a loop, so I am no longer using that...

You can try ATITool beta. If it recognizes 7900 GTO, it should be the most flexible to use and the easiest to set up.

After a new card comes out, the guy who writes it has to update the tool. Who knows? It may recognize these cards as 7900 GTX.

I used ATiTool with my X1900XT, & TBH, i'm kinda hesitant to use it, since i had horrible results with my X1900XT.
But then again, i couldn't OC my X1900XT with any programs w/o instability, so i can't really blame ATiTool entirely i guess.
