Alright, you guys know the drill. Building a new computer, I need some input to make sure I'm on the right track.

Case: Antec P182

I already have my OS, monitor, optical drives, and hard drives, so they aren't on the list. I'll be using this from everything to normal browsing, photo editing, and some mild gaming. (probably all at the same time) I want a decent GFX card so I can play newer games at moderately high settings, hence the 8800GT.

I plan on overclocking the processor, however I don't need to push it too high. I'll probably settle somewhere fairly conservative at 2.4-2.6ghz.

Questions:
1) I don't remember correctly, but are all 8800GT's based off the G92 core? If not, is the one I listed a G92?

2) Is the power supply beefy enough for what I need? I made sure to pick out a non-junk PS, however I wanted modular to cut down on cable clutter. If need be, I could easily bump up to the 500W model, however I don't really foresee myself upgrading my computer again in the future, so future upgrade potential isn't really necessary.

3) Is the motherboard a decent choice? I haven't been in the computer building scene for awhile, however I remember the DS3 as an excellent high-performance, low cost choice. I don't need SLI or anything like that, however is there are better motherboards for around the same price, I'm open for input.

4) Are there better cases for similar or cheaper prices? ($100 or below) I'm looking for decent noise reduction, sturdy design, and good cooling design.

You do not have to be a Vista Ultimate owner, as many people can check out without showing any proof. You also get Crysis with it, which you can use, or sell on craigslist for like $20-30 saving you some money.

Solid build all around. The PSU Raekin recommended is definitely better, but the 430W you picked out should be sufficient assuming you don't have 13 hard drives.

That 8800GT is based of the G92.

Awesome. I was looking at that corsair PSU but the price on newegg turned me off to it. Didn't realize I could get it so cheap on buy

The case is pretty convenient too, as I can pick it up @ the microcenter in Houston (30 min drive max, cheaper than $15+ in shipping!) and save 30 bucks on the base price!

As for the EVGA card, I can't seem to get it to work. I tried clicking 'buy it now' with both firefox and IE6. Neither would add it successfully to the cart. (Firefox would time out and IE6 would go to the EVGA home page)

For the Abit board, how does it fair compared to the Gigabyte? Is it basically the same board?

The Gigabyte DS3L has free shipping on newegg right now as the Ip35-E does not. Leaving only about a $20 price tag difference. For me at least. $20 is worth the small Mboard upgrade and not having to mess with the rebate. But that would just be me.

Hrmph, wierd, now it works fine with firefox. It was timing out before. Oh well, now I got that for cheap plus Crysis (which I've been wanting to try :thumbsup

Sweet, let me know how it [Crysis] runs on your rig. I'm building a similar rig except with an E4500 (gonna OC to 3.0ghz) and i went with a PNY 8800GT deal that I couldn't pass up.

Thanks for all the help. This saved me tons of money on my computer Newegg raised their pricing of the P182 to $150(no rebate) today, so I saved a ton of money on it by buying from Microcenter.

EDIT: Wow, buy.com sure is quick. I ordered the Corsair PSU right after lunch yesterday and it's already at my door at 11AM. :thumbsup: to buy
