iTunes music to apple tv intermittent

Has anyone had this issue?

When playing music from my MacBook Air to my 2nd gen Apple TV, the music plays fine for a few minutes, then cuts out, then picks back up, the cuts out again (and repeat in/out..... until I end up turning it all off).

I have updated all the equipment. MBA is hardwired via Ethernet to router, and Apple TV is connect to 5ghz wifi connection from router.

The above is for my Bedroom Apple TV, but the same happens with my Living Room Apple TV.

Does this also happen if you AirPlay videos from iTunes?
What about music from other sources?

The ONLY thing my aTV2 is good for anymore is streaming music, but it's usually from Spotify.

The ONLY thing my aTV2 is good for anymore is streaming music, but it's usually from Spotify.

I used AirPlay to stream an internet broadcast from my iPad to my Apple TV on Sunday and it worked fine.

Using the MBA (preferred device to stream using AirPlay from) streaming audio via iTunes is intermittent, streaming music from Spotify is horrible. Streaming a video is crap also.
