Ok guys, I'm new to integrated sound, but i have a problem. As many of you know, the Iwill kk266+ has 6.1 channel configuration and many reviewers loved it.
The only problem i've been having with the board though is the sound. When using the onboard sound, I only have noise through the right front channel. I dont have a 5.1 system setup, just nice big front channel speakers. And I can only get the right channel. But i think that the problem is with the hardware because if i leave my headphones, stereo to RCA connectors about 50% in, then i have sound in both channels, but really bad sound. Can someone help me please.

yup, bios, drivers, software. The only thing is i cant seem to do, is in the manual, the back pages talk about some kind of advanced setup, but i have no clue how to get there. I'm using WinXP, and maybe that might be the key!!

I had always had a problem with the via drivers messing with the cmedia drivers on my kk266 for some reason. I had to reinstall windows fresh, then install the via drivers then the sound and then the video card.. then they would work fine.. in a different order they would mess up and give me errors..

its all about your drivers and the mixer it comes with...you need ver.1.44 c-media mixer...it has support for SPDIF and 4 ch. try that and see what happens, and make sure you are pluggin in the right holes!

ok, still having problems!! I cant afford to reformat as i have too much stuff on the HDD to backup, I just have to try and find the 1.44 c-media drivers and go from there.

I only have front channel speakers right now (until the summer when i move back to my dads and hook up my big stereo to my computer) but i can only get sound from the front left. So it's been really pissing me off. I have a great system here and i cant use it to the best yet. Oh well. I will try

ok, didnt work. But i tried using 4 channel sound from the advanced options and when i put my front channel speakers to the rear channel, both speakers work. IE Left and Right. so that's good, but it's only rear channel sounds!!!! So i know it's not my connection to my stereo ie my rca jack

so i hope it's not a connection with the sound circut

I've had the exact same problem with my kk266 plus. using just stereo speakers, getting sound through the right channel only. inserting the plug only partway gives me sound in both channels, but it is mono - just the right channel sound coming through both speakers.
Iwill tech support has not been helpful. My retailer (Compuplus) has been very helpful, & sent me a replacement mobo to try - same problem. have the latest drivers and bios, with win xp pro. have tried several sets of speakers and headphones - same result. have tried every configuration variation I can think of.
Otherwise I love the mobo. If I can't figure this out, I'll probably just get a sound card rather than replace the board. But, I suspect it's a configuration or driver issue, and I'd rather figure it out.
So, you're not alone in this. Any progress since your last posting?

thanks for the post, my dad took a look @ the board and said there must be a connection issue inside, because he is an audiophile who works with speakers and what not all the time, and said when that happens, it's usually a connection inside.
The place where i bought the board can't RMA the board because he's a very smalltime computer store specialized in Overclocking and he had to RMA the board previous to the one i bought because of the clips on the HSF hinge broke, so he RMA'd it once, and that's all your allowed (most places), so I'm SOL. But i do have an SBlive value, but i wanted the 5.1config. oh well
