Remember the Jagged Alliance series? Well there back on Steam for....5 bucks!!
Awesome turn based strategy game...got great reviews, but might be hard to get into if you weren't a fan of the original. The best part is, you get Jagged Alliance 2 and the expansion in this deal!

I got it last night and it was very easy, took about an hour to download and I was ready to go

For 5 bucks, its a complete robbery

EDIT: Seems like there are bugs with the steam version that cuts back on the game, one where I have encountered is the money bug where you have unlimited money and the disappearing items...the publishers say there is a patch in the works

How's the gameplay for JA2? Iis it a turn based game like say, Fallout 2?

I'm not a fan of turn-based games and RPG in general, but it looks like something I might enjoy. For $5, it's not like I'm risking much.

JA2's core is a turn-based tactics game. I've seen it compared to Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, but I've never been able to get a copy to compare. The Wikipedia article has some general information.

There are aspects of

• RPG - the mercs gain experience and skill points. There is also a custom personal merc that functions as the player's avatar.
• Strategy - choosing which map sectors to attack/defend and prioritizing objectives like capturing mines (income) and disabling SAM sites.
• Logistics - optimizing merc teams (complementing skills and personalities) and equipment with limited funds. Transporting mercs and equipment to the point of conflict is a key issue.

The Unfinished Business expansion has a limited scope with an emphasis on individual battles.

JA2 is awesome. I have the original JA2 box and all, JA2: Unfinished business box and all and the gold pack LOL. Can you use mods successfully with the steam edition? If so..I suggest Deidrianna Lives and also Urban Chaos for mods.

Great game! If you're familiar with the X-Com series, this has similar turn based game play.

I ran into the money bug and disappearing items, but this seemed to do the trick. It sucks that you have to do this to play the game bug free, but for 5 bucks I didn't care

oOo, no wonder my cash kept returning to 45k every time I visited the finance page. I knew something was wrong. If this works, time to start a new game, good thing I didn't go farther than drassen airport..

JA2 is awesome. There is also a mod that adds a ton of weapons/ammo/armor/misc stuff to the game and also allows you to mod some of the ingame aspects.

Here is the link to mod homepage. Not sure if it works with the steam version though.
