Surprised no one has made a thread for the Jaguar, er, sorry I mean, JaGUar (really...) brand overhaul and their, uh, unique, concept design. Being fair, they intentionally set out to ruffle feathers, but I don't see this being what people wanted from them. They seem to want to just be another foppish British marque catering to ultrawealthy, but seems like they're gonna sabotage their design so they stand out from Bentley and RR.
It took a lot to make that $300,000 Cadillac (which seems to have the same powertrain and similar looks as their $50k electric SUV) seem sane, but they found a way to do it. Extra disappointing as they acted like they were gonna stand out by offering more bespoke design that would harken to their glory days (by being something someone would drool over). Which, I think the car design could have worked with some tweaking (it is just a concept so far) and with a completely different brand. Its not at all premium and reminds me more of something made for a dystopian movie, like the 6000SUX. Which I guess with how things are going, well maybe its fitting and they'll do well.
Also their new emblem is...looks like 96? Not sure at all what they were going for there. Speaking of Cadillac and branding mistakes, something about this reminds me of the the Catera "the caddy that zags", so guess we should be happy it wasn't "this kitty Jags". Which, they should have just rebranded as "Jag".
