Whoo, wonder if Russell can be to the Raiders what Vince Young was to the Titans.
Doubt it. Nothing against him but the Titans were bad because of youth and finally developed together later in the season.
The Raiders just suck.
Good, well thought out argument.
Why should I have to be the one to convince you that your team would be improved by adding Russell? Your team sucks now. Tell me how he would fix it.
Their defense was #3 in the league, and though that's a tad misleading, it's definitely a major strength of their's. They drafted some young, fresh fast guys for the secondary, and you had Burgess/Sapp this year which made for one of the best pass rushes in the league.
That then leaves their offense, and the only way to start there is with a good solid QB. Andrew Walter and Aaron Brooks were definitely not the answer to compliment their very talented group of receivers, which included Randy Moss and Jerry Porter.
They also lacked an adequate offensive coordinator, and everyone knows the story behind that. They'll likely get a new guy in at offense coordinator, and as long as he's somewhat competent, he'll work out a decent system to take advantage of the talent on the team.
So start with a young QB like Russell, maybe add a lineman or two, and possible a receiver/rb, bring the offense up to average and have your defense help you win your games...and voila, you have a 7-8 win team.
