Japanese Word Processing software recommendations?

hello,

i know a professor at my work who is interested in purchasing some japanese word processing software. back in the day, he used a program that was made by apple (or at least that is what it said on the box). but now, he uses a pc and i am pretty sure his apple software will not work with his pc. by any chance can someone recommend me some japanese word processing software titles? right now, he is using windows98, but an upgrade to xp is in the near future. thanx in advance!

would i need a japanese OS to install a japanese version of word? i think i tried to install chinese office on my dad's computer once, and it did not work.

You can use Word but grammer and spell check isnt going to work.. Just download the IME - Japanese from Microsoft. I cant remember where it is but just go to windows.com and into the Windows 98 or whatever section and search for japanese. It will allow him to enter japanese on WORD.
