I didn't get a slough of vaccinations when I was a kid and I turned out just fine.

Not really, it just seems like that because of all the media exposure she's getting. Don't forget, there's always the Westover Baptist to consider and other extreme idiots getting air time but that doesn't mean it's an accurate cross section of the vast majority of the people.

Well I suppose thats what bothers me so much. Being a nurse and all. But its amazing how many of my patients DONT want get a flu or pneumonia(when they qualify for one) and their primary reason is 'vaccines arent safe'

She does have some valid points. It's crazy how many vaccinations kids go through these days compared to what I went through (I am 29). Some of doctors I have talked to indicated that increase in vaccination is causing a lot of side effects, such as allergy (skin, respiratory).

I get sick every time I get a flu shot. I don't get sick when I don't get them. I stopped getting flu shots years ago and haven't had the flu since.

I haven't had a shot for anything in over 25 years, and I'm fine. I haven't had a cold in over 2 years. My wife comes home from work with colds and I never get them. Strange coincidence?

In the past I've had the Flu, chickenpocks, normal colds that last a week, but nothing major.

The flu shot doesnt cause you to get the flu...sure you can have a mild illness for a couple days but its more due to the immune response. I got the flu shot every year I was in college and was one of the few people NOT to get the flu whenever it chose to rampage through my dorm

shite, I had no idea. I knew she was big into the autism thing, and has kind of reinvented herself. had no idea she was using this as anti-vaccine propaganda.

Having a nephew on my wifes side who has autism. There is a lot of blame that people want to toss around. Somehow vaccines have become the brunt of the autism movement. Lots of anecdotal evidence that kids turned after being vacinated. So far there isnt any concrete medical research to prove this. But try to tell them that.

The problem is, the last two generations (of Americans. more or less), have no concept of Polio and influenza, how absolutely devastating these diseases are. Smallpox, measles, etc.

They can spout this anti-reality bullshit all they want because they've never lived in a world where the use and necessity of vaccination was so blatantly obvious. Of course, send them to many third world countries and they might achieve a little enlightenment.

the anti-vaccination propaganda is far, far more dangerous to humanity than is any thing the niche nutjobs like WB church.

this anti-vaccination BS can be found all over the world. And plenty of uninformed dipshits are mreo willing to believe the word of uninformed anti-scientists than they are to believe the history and volumes of solid data that supports the necessity of vaccination. it's truly mind-boggling.

It's a common side effect of the flu vaccination. some 3-10k people? still die of the flu every year. Of course, most of them are elderly, so there are a lot of factors at stake here.

I don't always get the flu vaccine myself, but a lot of it depends on the environment you work and live in.
