Hi,
I have an Asus P5K-E/Wifi-AP Mainboard, which has the JMB363 controller. It's for the two eSATA ports on the rear panel, and a single internal PATA port. Until recently I was using a Sil0680a pci card so that I would have 2 extra PATA ports available for my three IDE hdds. The Silicon Image card and JMicron controller were incompatible so I disabled the JMicron and ran the three drives off of the PCI card.
Then, one of my old IDE hdds was on it's way out so I removed the Sil0680a card, and got a Nexstar 3 external enclosure and a 750GB seagate SATA drive to use with the JMicron eSATA port. It took some tinkering, but I got the external drive working after updating the JMicron driver from their website.
The problem is now that the JMB363 PATA port won't run my two remaining IDE drives. If I connect them both, either as slave/master or cable select, and in AHCI, IDE, or RAID mode, they will not be detected. They will only be detected if one of the two drives is hooked up to the port. Seems like a JMicron issue, and that there won't be any way to resolve it, but I was hoping someone here could suggest some way of fixing it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
