Just finished Samurai Champloo

Now I'm not really into anime and stuff but this one was awesome. The story remained strong even though there were many stand alone episodes (something that Bebop and Ghost in the Shell fail to do, GITS didn't get good until the last few episodes). Most of the episodes delved into subjects that were moving and sometimes quite disturbing, overall a pretty deep series albeit its hip-hop-ness and bits of thrown in humor (baseball episode ftw). The characters were all so lovable that the end of the series leaves you praying for them to live, and although I wish there was another season it ended very appropriately.

Fuu definately had a point when she said that she didn't want the journey to end.

Same, but there's really no more material. I'd love to see the characters in something again as well.

Champloo is a good series, but it felt like it just dragged on past about episode 15. The ending was pretty cool though - did something like Bebop. It's nice when directors allow "endings" (purposefully ambiguous to prevent spoiliage).

I liked it, generally.

Well, they go through some tuff sh1t at the end, and I for one, didn't know if it was going either way. He shouldn't have said it, but like in all well done scenes, you're just like, oh sh1t, is he going to make it? You don't know till the end.

There were no spoilers, but now yougotta guess whether or not they do or don't.

Great series. Been a while since I've seen Bebop too, but I'd definitly put Samurai Champloo up there. The melding of hip-hop with feudal Japan was pretty interesting and I thought they did a great job. When they weren't slicing dudes up there was enough humor or plot-induced intrigue to keep me glued to my computer watching it for hours on end. Highly recommend to any anime fan, or anyone with even the slightest interest (on par with "I wonder what anime means?" ).
