Just joined the UD anandtech team

I figured i'd start contributing my idle PC time to a good cause. My machine is a p4 2.66Mhz with 512MB of ram so with all that idle power it makes me feel a bit selfish. The UD project seems to be the most appealing to me because I actually lost an Aunt to cancer. I'm away from my computer so much, and I leave it on, so why not donate it to a good cause? Is there anything I need to know about it? The only thing I changed in the client was to run it as a screensaver. I've joined the UD anandtech team already as 'jmalm'.

Hiya jmalm! Glad to have ya crunching with us.
In my short experience with the UD project, it seems to me anyway, that disabling the screensaver and letting UD run full time in the background should up your points earned. Us stats junkies love to tweak our DC projects for maximum pointage...... Beware, Distributed Computing can be addicting!

It's true, it can be very addicting. I recommend changing your configuration to use as much hard drive space as possible. It doesn't help too much, but every little bit counts.

I need to get to full processing power yet. I havent even started to install on too many of the xp 2500s

I'm only at about 25% capacity, but my router is telling me im at 100% network capacity...
