I setup my G5 where the clicking the mouse wheel to the right I get foward, and clicking the mouse wheel left is back in browser. So I didn't loose anything over the 518.
Yep, that was the deciding factor for me. The G5 has a tilting scrolling wheel, compensating for the loss of a side button from the MX518. MX518 doesnt have side-scroll.
who needs side scroll??? wtf resolution do you people have that you need side scroll to see the page?
You can remap the two tilt buttons to whatever you want, ie: your forward and backward.
The G5 is great though. I had the MX510 and I would like to have the forward thumb button, the but I do like the addition of the tilting scroll wheel. Easy to use with a flick of your finger. Plus the adjustable DPI is useful sometimes in gaming.
