I feel the same way about ATM Machines.
I haven't hit one of those in several years, maybe 10. Rarely use cash anymore. I hit my bank occasionally to swap hard drive for off-site backup of my NAS in my safe deposit box. I can get cash then and deposit a check if I have one. ATM machines make me nervous. My bank usually has a very short line inside, usually none.

I am fully aware that "very unique" is an abomination in English. I pride myself on good English. I think I have it, sometimes.

Automated Teller Machine Machines are not very unique.

They are all over. I don't use cash enough to need them and take my checks directly to the bank. I have deposited checks remotely, too, but not for many years.

Anyway, what's your beef with ATM's, @BurnItDwn?

You've missed the point a second time; the pleonasm "ATM Machine", since the "M" stands for machine, it's redundant.
Point taken. I think they did that to soften the image and produce a useful acronym. Teller Machine or TM don't work as well for an Acronym. Sometimes there's no good answer.

It's perfectly fine to simply call it an ATM. That is a good answer

Do not add a duplicate/redundant word "machine" after the acronym ATM.
The word Machine is not needed. Just like if somebody adds the word "very" in front of the word unique.

Acronyms are a problem in modern culture. Acronym Finder

Believe it or not saying "ATM machine" is going to produce less confusion on the whole than "ATM" both because using acronyms in spoken expression being difficult in some degree and because the "ATM machine" expression is more easily interpreted in speech than the pure acronym.

If I say "do it yourself" it's less compact than DIY but in speech that's what I say, not DIY. Just one example.
