The Official thread was deleted because the mods felt I was site-pimping.

So instead, I'm just posting individual store deals that people who do not go to my site may not see.

This thread should probably be locked as well. AT doesn't allow coupon codes for legal reasons, and I would think that BF information is also putting them at risk for legal action.

There are plenty of other sites to go to for BF info, such as the original poster's site, GottaDeal, DealTaker and a few others.

I agree, it is kind of annoying to delete the post just because it's promoting a website...that is only in existence for Black Friday...and have a million threads cluttering the Hot Deals section. I'd rather that than none at all though, because I'm interested in what people have to say about their experiences with specific stores on previous BFs.

So true. exactly why I always find and read the threads on deals here, even when I've already discovered the deal on my own. Because it can be very helpful to hear about other people's experiences with it.

But then again, I could see why Anandtech could possibly not want this if there is even the possability of legal issues.

That thread suffered from more than that--it derailed and dove off a cliff in a fiery ball. Too much e-penis swinging about whose BF site was better, had more visitors, etc. was probably the real reason it got slammed shut. Sadly, any BF threads here will have the same chance of going downhill. If the BF site mods would concentrate on posting the deals and nothing more, all would be well (minus any potential legal issues for this site) and all will be happy.

All the BF posters have been great sofar, please keep the deals coming! More deals, less e-penis swinging, mmkay?

I thought the whole DCMA mess last year surrounded posting scanned images of the ads, not just prices from it.


Anyway hopefully AT Hot Deals will stay organized for BF, one thread per store would be best IMHO.

I believe FW fought and won the suit that BB brought against them. The DCMA somehow didn't apply. I shall never understand why a company would discourage people from disseminating their advertising.
