For you super seven owners with the right motherboard, this is a fantastic deal. I havent bought from this company but they seem fairly reliable. Comments?
K6-III+

[EDIT] These are really nice chips guys. I have mine clocked at 6x100, not too bad for a $60 upgrade. For those of you having problems, keep in mind that not every board will work with the + series of cpus. Its a crap shot if your bios does not directly support it. I have been very pleased with the service from Pcliquidator as well. [/EDIT]

seems a little sketchy to me. I would think that AMD zone would have had this deal already in their crosshairs. Since he has orchestrated a k6-3 buy for 25 people, which is the only thing I have read about the 3's in over a year>

Its a tough call, I must admit. I think Im going to hold off for a while. The AS-IS could be because of the lack of bios support though.

Its doubtful that a k6 can do a 150 Mhz over clock. 50 mHz is more like it.

Do the mobil chips run in a super socket 7 boards for normal PCs??

The K6-3+'s are based on a .18micron core. A lot of people with K6-2+ cpus have been reporting hitting 600. That doesn't really hold true anymore zogg.

OH .18 micron , huh?
How is this company? are they legit? How come its so cheap?

How do you get 600 on these older ss7 boards. Mine has up to a 5x multiplier. Is it similarf to a pentium 233MMx......... you put the multiplier on 1.5 and get 3.5 out of the board?

That's what I'm wondering. I'd really like one, to max out my SS7 box. I just found out that the K6-2/3+ cpus come with the enhanced 3DNow! instructions the Athlons have.

For the multiplier, SS7 boards have a max multiplier of 5.5x, but the K6-3 re-routes the 2.0x to 6.0x, so that's how you would get 600.

What is the diference between a k62+ and a k63+ ???? Isd it the L2 cache on a K6-2+ is 128 and a K6-3+ is 256?

Yep, that's the difference between the K6-2+ and the K6-3+. Only one person has left them a mark at reseller ratings (it was positive). I'm wondering how they can offer it so cheap, when K6-2+ 500s were going for $75 or so.

so does the L3 cache play an important roll? Like would a a board with 2 megs ofr onboard cache be much better then a 512k cache baord for games? Or since the L3 is at 100 MHz and the L1 and L2 are at processor speed........I would think that the L3 wouldnt be much of a factor unless I was doing big spreadsheets or stuff like that.

I've dealt with their retail store in Redondo Beach area. Definitly
no-nonsense type operation. Seemed like a lot of geeks hanging out. The store was full of customers, a lot of pulls, overstocks etc. I was happy with them.

I have been to their brick and mortar store also. Based on what I saw their and what I bought, I can tell you that you will get your chip if you order it from them. I cant guarantee that it will work, though.

I have bought a floppy drive (AS-IS) that stopped working the second time I booted my computer.

My dad also bought an old Compaq laptop (AS-IS). It turns out that it has an internal power supply with a dead fan, and shuts itself down after 30 minutes of use.

I have bought 2 other things (AS-IS) that did work, but I am only batting 50-50 with their AS-IS parts.

I also wasn't too impressed with their employees. They were much more interested in talking among themselves then answering my questions.

These were only my experiences, but I don't rate them very high.

They claim these are new and are being sold as-is only to avoid having to deal with returns. Knowing how some people will abuse the chips, I can understand their position. I'm going for it. Probably last chance to upgrade my SS7 at a reasonable price. Will go great in that $29 SS7 board I got from overstock.com a month ago.

This should go nice into your IOpenerer. You can put K63-333 in there, and if the voltage is right, you can put this cpu in there as well. The only thing is that K63-333 AFK is only $29 at Frys Electronics

But how much voltage does the chip require, and will it require cooling Q16 in order to run @ full speed?

You might be able to run it at a lower voltage, thereby relieving the need for active cooling at the IO's stock speed, but I suspect you'd need a heatsink & fan for anything close to the chip's rated speed.

You guys, be careful when you buy these because if your board does not support the + line of k6 cpus, it may not work.
