K7S5A and SB Live 5.1??

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone out there has this combination and how well it is working for them? After my last experience with adding a new PCI Promise TX2 controller, I'm hesitant about adding another PCI device into the system...

I'd love to hear any comments, experiences or tips about using this sound card with the K7S5A..

I have both a SB5.1 and Promise TX2 runnin' fine on my K7S5A.

Thanks for the feedback...I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pickup the SB Live 5.1 unless someone else can recommend a better sound card in the same price range...

Also, I'm not sure if you had the TX2 before or after you got the SB Live 5.1, but do you remember if your drives were detected or not if the onboard midi port was enabled? I added my TX2 after I setup my system and the TX2 would never detect any hard drives or IDE devices if the onboard midi was enabled.

SB 5.1 is like butter on my K7S5A, wish I could have said the same for my KT7

I have an SBLive 5.1 working great on my system. However, do watch out if you're going to be installing a Netgear FA311 nic along with it. Seems the K7S5A doesn't like an SBLive and FA311 installed at the same time. (The computer works if one of the two is removed)
