Duh...Okay you guys, because to put together a K7s5a MB with a 1400 T-Bird in a Fong Kai case with a Teac Floopy and a Deskstar HD and a Toshiba DVD and a SB Live! worked out pretty good! The jumpers diagrams on the manual are kinda of silly and could trick even smart people! Thankfully, not knowing any better, I messed around a little bit. After somber dead button pushes after an initial burst of glory, I agian am reunited with the brute force of how freaking fast this good little guy just is. Duh, funny how it wouldn't go though for a while, (pretty scary). I made friends with BIOS! He's such a good little clever little fellow. It's good to turn off USB, and the on-board modem and audio. (Unless you use them). sTuPiDmAn's only problem is having a heated argument with Microsoft's FDisk and Format. Makes me want to throw dirtclods at the Redmond facility. My 40 GB Deskstar is 8 MB? I think not. At any rate, nobel computer builders, take heart; because if sTuPiDmAm can build a computer, so could your cat. Happy hair-balls!

Boy, can I ever relate.....built my 1400 tbird last weekend, and never having to format/fdisk (thanks to NEC recovery disks), what an F$%$ing nightmare the first time. Also, I forgot to disable the modem, and the damn computer kept on trying to find drivers for a pci device that didn't exist. I finally figured it out after playing around with a few options...

i thought the hardest part about putting together a athlon system is the LOCKING IN OF THE DAMN retail Heatsink and Cooler. That thing is incredibally hard to lock down onto the athlon chip.

Having exhausted all fdiskx and format options and trying to trick them into believing in a 40GB tooth fairy, what prestidigitaion did you use? I put the dandalion under their chin and told them their skin was yellow. I also bent my right index finger and attempted to convince them the my left thumb was the extention of my right index finger that I could actually pull off. (It's a visual trick that translates poorley to the written word.)

At this point I'm almost ready to invoke my special powers. All I have to do, (don't tell anybody, okay?) is say: "BY THE POWER OF NUMBSKULL, I AM STUPID MAN".
