Hey, I'm having the same exact problem as you... but I'm using MSI K8N Neo4-F... the version found on this thread is the for MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum. Can I use the same drivers? Also is winflash a seperate programme?

the Neo4-f and Neo4 Platinum use the same BIOS, so you'll be fine.

winflash is a separate program.

Hey can somebody help me with flashing my bios... I downloaded winflash and the bios already. The winflash requires a bin file but the bios (7125v16.zip) doesn't have any. It only has an .exe and .160(??) file. Can anybody give me a detailed breakdown of what to do? I never flashed my bios before and don't want to screw anything up... Thanks!

Just use the .160 file.

An update to my status of this board:

The best BIOS to work with is definitely 1.6. The 1.71 beta BIOS are good, but they, for whatever reason, don't have the 150, 140, and other memory dividers listed.

As for my system:
3000+ Venice
Neo4-F
2x512 Mushkin 3-3-3-8 PC3200 Value Ram

I've got it overclocked to 2.5Ghz - (278x9). I could go higher, but it's taking a LOT of voltage - at 2.5 it's up to 1.64 volts. My memory divider is 140. 1T timing.

And, what's more, it's failing the Prime 95 torture test, though it's doing just fine with everything else. I might go back down to 1.6V and 2.4Ghz, where it passed everything fine.

Thanks ducci, I successfully flashed my bios! I have this problem with my bios right now. I'm using MSI K8N Neo4-F and everytime I restart or boot up my computer, they will flash this screen with Platinum (?? I'm not even using the plat version??) and after that they go into the normal bios screen where they ask me to press F1 to continue or Del to enter set up. Is this normal or is there a way I an bypass this?

It's fine. You can go in the BIOS and disable that picture and it will just show the POST instead.

I am at 1.6v at 2.7ghz stable. I also run Cool N Quiet, so it runs at 1.3v and 1.5ghz most of the time.

Hey guys I have this mobo and the 3000+ Venice as many of you do. I was seeing what I could get out of an overclock yesterday but I couldn't get it to boot above 2.1 Ghz. (233x9). I haven't done anything to the voltages yet but my mem is already @ 2.65, which I think is over spec. It did not boot above 233x9 with 1.5v to the CPU either (3.x%). I tried lowering the RAM multiplier but that didn't work either. My goal for this OC is 2.4 Ghz.

OK, search of the thread found nothing, but I just read this in a customer review at newegg and thought I would pass it along. Everybody agree with this ?
I reported a few reviews down that there is no PCI lock in BIOS, but I have since found out that the CPU SPREAD SPECTRUM in the CELL section will lock the PCI bus when disabled.

Yes it does lock the pci bus,i dont think i could reach 300mhz fsb without a lock.

Okay I have all the mem timings as the other guy and I still can't POST above 240 FSB. I've upgraded to the 1.8 BIOS, would you recommend I goto one of the 1.7 Modded BIOSes? This is really frustrating because Everyone seems to at least get 2.2 GHz. Max I can get is 1.15. I'm also getting a new 120 mm fan tomorrow for exhaust.

Okay need help again.

I can get my system stable @ Mem 250, FSB 250, CPU 2.25 Ghz. Voltages are at: CPU: 1.5v, Mem: 2.7v, NF4: 1.6v. With this config my CPU temp under load is 42C. From what I've read thats extremely low. I'd like to up my FSB more but if I lower the mem divider to 166 or 133 I get no POST. I have Bios 1.75mod. Can anyone tell me whats the limiting factor? Also, would it be okay to up my voltages more? Any higher and it goes to the red numbers, and I dont want to fry anything.
