To be honest, goalposts moved for me after Kavanaugh's opening statement...and after showing utter contempt and disdain for answering questions truthfully. That's all fine for a political appointee to a cabinet position, but not for a judge on any bench. I never expected Ford's testimony alone would clear the bar for blocking confirmation, but Kavanaugh's performance alone was enough.
That said, I'd welcome any FBI investigation, however short, but I don't expect much once a floor vote is already scheduled. I doubt they'll ever be able to prove/disprove any allegations from the 1980s...at most they may find clear evidence that Kavanaugh lies under oath. And I agree, the mere fact that FBI went looking for Judge would be enough cover for ale, Collins and Murkowski. But they may not find him...
Do you want the practical answer or reality.
The practical answer is that Kavanaugh is unsuitable for SCOTUS.
The reality is that Republicans have the votes and means to push him through. The Democrats had one chance to stop Kavanaugh, and that was to make him so politically poisonous that the GOP would have to abandon him.
The nation is overwhelmingly in support of the Mueller probe. The Democrats should have made this about Kavanaugh’s perjury and they should have tied him to the investigation into Trump.
Instead it became a #metoo story from dated allegations from high school and college, an emotional and volatile line of attack that could implode and also fail.
Flake just made an FBI investigation conditional to his vote.

You're a pathetic idiot.you do understand that everyone can read what you said, knows what you said, and are clearly smarter than you, right?
you don't back out of making an uninformed cowardly statement by refusing to admit that your brainless idea has real consequences. The fact is you are perfectly fine with grenading the shit out of some babies. Everyone knows it. It's not like you actually care, anyway, because you promised to do it all without looking.
No need to have that on your conscious, right!? ....lol, conscious.
Being on the supreme court really should not be a lifetime ambition, which it seems he's been working on for quite a while. That's why he's created this, "I was a good alter boy" bullshit fantasy about his obviously wild life in high school and college. Seems he learned the number one thing that I found from friends that went to a real college was how to burn the candle at both ends quite efficiently, dividing partying and school work. I could never do it. That's one reason I went to tech school. What I find most interesting is the sense of entitlement driving his ambition. Getting the job is more important than anything else, obviously. It's all about him. It's not about Justice or higher purpose at all. If confirmed, he won't carry the taint of this himself. The Court will bear it as well.
Everyone supports it, why would you not? A short, limited scope investigation into the existing accusations?Manchin supports FBI investigation.
So McConnell can either ignore this and simply dare them to vote no on the floor or agree to Flake's terms.

It was Senator Flake, that made the original proposal along with Senator Coons. It's just a dog & pony show, which is why Grass-ass said "limited scope".

Same shit...different names. I stand corrected. It was Senator Flake, that made the original proposal along with Senator Coons.

I wonder how many potential witnesses will be "out of town" next week?Yes, they will probably try and hamstring it. I guess we'll see.
Still an improvement from their previous stance which was:
Republicans: 'Innocent until proven guilty!'
Democrats: 'why don't we investigate to see if he's guilty then?'
Republicans: 'No.'
I think it is for a lot of jurists & I'm OK with that. A thoughtful & decent candidate who truly respects & understands the role of the SCOTUS in America would have withdrawn when these accusations first surfaced & made themselves look good in the process. Kavanaugh didn't do that. His ambition is more important.
It's fucking shameful if we think about it at all. I mean, who does this guy think he is, anyway?
Weasels? You're being too kind.Never underestimate the rationalization skills of the weasels in this forum...these guys are pros.
Weasels? You're being too kind.
It's no surprise, but still hilarious, the reaction the weasels had to Judge Kavanaugh's testimony yesterday. After living their entire lives on either their knees or rolled over with their "Mount Me" tattoos on full display it's inconceivable to them that, after being threatened, insulted and enduring unsubstantiated accusations of attempted rape, a man looks his accusers in the eye and tells them to fuck off.

True, that Coons guy is a total asshole.Same shit...different names. I stand corrected.
Except this will add no or minimal delay. This is not the open ended, open timeline, open scope investigation the Democrats were trying to get.We all know which one MConnell will choose. There is no way he is going to have the FBI investigate Kavanaugh. Mitch knows that probably would not turn out well for himself or Kavanaugh. It also delays things which, as we all know, is a cardinal sin to the Republicans. 1 minute delay = 1 dead baby angel they could've saved
LMAO. Again, a weak and pathetic Republican calls sniveling and crying "looking his accusers in the eye and telling them to fuck off." Beta bitch.
