I mean, I get it, you're a fucking retard, but even then you have to realize that another of Trump's picks got confirmed to the SC without having any sexual assault allegations brought up against him, right?

That's a little too much thinking for compuwiz1. He is a pretty angry old fart who has massive issues with the world changing around him and has ingested decades of right wing talk radio.

To be fair that was about six months before Weinstein started the current climate regarding this kind of stuff. It is of course entirely possible that Gorsuch had no skeletons, but anyone nominated now better really have none. I tend towards the belief that politics attracts these kinds of people (and let's be honest, by people I mean men), and that the ones who legitimately have nothing like this in their past have no interest in playing this game. If Kavanaugh falls through Trump's best bet might be to pick a woman.

Viper GTS

I'm gonna have to disagree, these are the same people that were carrying water for Trump.

I find it difficult to believe that it's hard to find someone without so much baggage. On the other hand, they're not looking for any random judge and being an extreme right wing ideologue probably exponentially increases your chances of having skeletons in your closet.

2nd Woman has come out, something from Law School(?)
Should be interesting this week.

While I try to stay out of metoo things and I don’t like ancient history coming into play today because we all change over time.
I certainly don’t like a new justice being seated that is pro expanding Presidential powers. That is clearly not the right conservative for right now.

Yet I see conservatives here complain about authoritarian rule while simultaneously voting for it. Cognitive dissonance at it's finest.

Not seeing the hypocrisy of a politician who admits to sexually assaulting a drunken woman while as a teenager being in charge of nominating another man merely accused of a similar crime is exceptionally stupid.

One is someone, while making out, grabbing a woman’s breast after having his hand pushed away once. The other is a man attempting to pin a woman down and her clothes off while clamping his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams.

I doubt anyone is actually dumb enough to think those two things are remotely similar so I question why you are trying to do that here.

Fine, so let's take Kavaugh out of the running and replace him with someone else. ANY candidate put forward is going to be subject to a smear campaign. To the left, the end justifies the means. There will never be a right candidate chosen by this administration, in their eyes. So, smear away, but I hope it all comes back to bite them. If this is the norm, we can kiss the republic goodbye. Disgusting, but I'm not surprised in the least. This shit is playbook. The thing to do is give the left a big middle finger and confirm Kavanaugh. It will send a message that their games are not going to work anymore.

If any candidate put forward is going to be subject to a smear campaign why weren’t Gorsuch, Alito, or Roberts subjected to smear campaigns?

So you are saying conservatives can't find a single nominee who wasn't a elitist prep school douchebag partyboy who has no respect for women?

Then you would be correct.

Otoh, Gorsuch didn't suffer Kav-bro's fate, so perhaps your assumptions are incorrect.

However, you all rat fucked Garland, so you will never get but minimal support for anyone.
That will never be forgotten.

Except, from now on, every candidate sexually assaulted someone, until it's a nominee chosen by democrats.

With you guys, yeah, that seems to be a pattern.

-Gay sex in (bathrooms/hotels/with pages)
-Knocking up our Mistresses and getting abortions
-Sexual assault and pedo behavior
-Grabbing pussies

Another one over the weekend while you weren't looking:

Minnesota Rep. Jim Knoblach (R) quits campaign following sexual allegations by daughter
Minnesota state Rep. Jim Knoblach abruptly ended his re-election campaign amid allegations of inappropriate touching from his 23-year-old daughter the she says spanned her childhood.

Republicans look stuck. Not enough momentum to move forward or to kill the nom yet. Trump wants to come out swinging but it risks likely electoral disaster.

Collins, Murkowski, Flake, and others have yet to weigh in on this new allegation or the Avanatti repped woman on the horizon.

I think the only "clean" way out of this is enough pressure behind the curtain from administration to get Kavanaugh to withdrawal from the nomination. Make a graceful statement and slither away.

Yes. It's the only available exit that's not a complete fucking disaster.

If Trump goes to the mat for this in his usual style though the congressional and down ballot political repercussions are basically unfathomable.

Obama, 8 years, zero scandals, no history of sexual misconduct or taking a piss in public.
It is not so hard, if you are not a shitty human being there wont be shit to dig up on you.
We all get you identify with the shittiness of people, with the shittiness of current admin and co conspirators. Little roy moore wannabe.

Zero scandals??? Really? How quickly we forget:

- He put fancy Dijon mustard on his burger!
- He saluted a marine with a latte in his hand!
- He wore a tan colored suit!!
- He didn't hold his own umbrella!
- He invited hip hop artists to a barbecue!!
- He used a teleprompter at his speeches!!!
- He bowed to foreign royalty!
- He dared put his feet on the Resolute desk!

Let's not whitewash the Obama Presidency just because his successor has a few more gaffes.

After the record-breaking theft of a Supreme Court seat by the GOP, I'm not opposed to the Democrats doing the same. Not saying this is that, but even if it is....it's war. One side is bringing peashooters to an artillery battle.

And yes, as an Independent voter if the Democrats start being as shitty as the GOP then it's possible I wouldn't vote for them...but Climate Change and deregulation efforts by the GOP are pretty much guaranteeing my vote (for their strongest opponent).

I am hearing this often, so it must be the new talking point. Those appointments didn’t change the balance of the court. Kavanaugh arguably would, hence the need to smear him. The same could be said for Bork, which is how we ended up with Kennedy in the first place. This is all about power and control.

We need to eliminate life time appointments to the court and there needs to be a standard vetting process for all candidates.

It's so hilarious that this is the talking point barely a year after Gorsuch breezed through confirmations with nary a rape accusation in sight. I'd call it disingenuous but I don't think that's the case. I think you really are this stupid and deranged.

BTW, your hope that Kavenaugh is confirmed out of spite fits perfectly with Pareene' tweet. Not only are you consumed with hatred, you're utterly predictable.

The Republicans hold a majority of senate seats. There is literally not a thing that Democrats can do about Kavenaugh, Republicans will either confirm him or reject him.

So, Ford's allegations are just a smear? Bork was smeared?

And you're a democratic socialist, somewhere in La-la land...

New talking point? It’s a completely obvious counterpoint. Republicans claimed that because Kavanaugh is credibly accused of sexual assault that all future nominees will be. That’s contradicted by the fact that the last three nominees weren’t.

As for this one somehow being special that’s nonsense too. Samuel Alito replaced the previous swing justice, O’Connor, and moved the court in a more conservative direction just like this nomination would. There was no ‘smear’ campaign against him either. Why not? It was an identical situation to this.

So no, this point is directly contradicted by recent, observable history. Republicans are making this shit up because they have no other defense other than to impugn the motives of Democrats.

Is this a joke? You think if accusations like these were made against Gorsuch the Dems would have stayed quiet because "it's cool, he's just replacing Scalia".

This is some next level stupidity.

The motives of the Democrats are clear. Jack Tapper did a good job of turning the screws a bit on Mazie Hirono over the weekend with regards to Keith Ellison.
