For the life of me I don't understand why he'd be pissed at the idea of delaying the vote for a week for the FBI to do a quick investigation, talking to Ford, Kavanaugh, Judge, and others alleged to be there. Well, unless Graham believes Ford's account.

If the GOP just rams this nomination through it becomes a huge hammer to beat over the GOP during midterms the same way Roy Moore's taking advantage of minors was in the Alabama special election for Sessions' vacant seat. Alabama's seat that would have never gone blue without that. If Kavanaugh is indeed innocent and the FBI shows this to be a big nothingburger that's huge for the GOP in the midterms.

No one usually wants to open themselves to an investigation, but the smart thing for Kavanaugh to do yesterday would have been to ask the FBI to investigate the case (unless he's guilty). Then he wouldn't have come off as the partisan hack he is with his Clinton revenge conspiracy.

By Senate rules wed. or thur. was the earliest a floor vote could be held, now they'll hold it on Friday and give Republicans cover that an FBI investigation into allegations was made. It's a win/win for Republicans. Unless of course nastiness is found out, in that case it'll still be a win.
