Yes, I have seen the price of Intel stock lately. It's been a nice few weeks. And a nice few years. And a nice few decades.

Uhh... definitely not a nice few years. If you bought 3 years ago you paid $33 a share, which is oh... TWICE what it's worth now... lol... I'm an Intel shareholder and want to see the rosy side of the picture too, but that comment is a bit ridiculous....

QFT...

Obviously hasn't paid attention to even the last 2 quarters...a few years ago you could swap AMD and intel position and price right now...AMD is currently the higher price stock

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AMD&d=t

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=INTC

Intel is only 2 points above its 52 week low....and that occurred on June 12th

Edit:...AMD has been coming down as well...speculations is investors dont like the fear of a price war...dilutes profits...plus rumor on the street is INtel is willing to tank the next few quarters is a brash attempt to regain lost marketshare////

i would buy Intel stock now cause I think it will go up...i think AMD is going to go to 20 and INTC will overtake them in stock price my 2Q 07

Just wanted to point out that, although AMD is the "higher priced stock" right now, and you could swap their stock prices from a few years ago, Intel is still a much larger and more profitable company. Intel market cap is $112B to AMD's $12B.. Intel's net income $1.4B last quarter to AMD's $184M.

And also the fact that in the last two months AMD's stock price has declined ~30%, while Intel has declined ~6%.

No offense at all, but this is becoming a joke, a total laughable joke.

One, no layoffs have occured or even been announced. Some news sources published rumors as facts and two months later there still haven't been any actions to back up the "news".

Two, selling their XScale business (ONE business) hardly qualifies as a "fire sale on most of their businesses".

Three, what you're reading aren't reviews, and really aren't even previews, as the NDA has yet to be lifted on Conroe, much less Kentsfield. They are leaked information from people that obtained prerelease engineering samples through one means or another. Intel hasn't released a single iota of advertising on Conroe, nor have they given their OK to release benchmarks. All they've done is put it on their roadmap and detailed the architecture. The original release date was July 23rd and it still is July 23rd. If they end up pushing that date out, or they do their launch and no parts are available in the channel, THEN you can complain about vaporware.

first part is false unless you like 6% decline...

second part is false

third part is true but I dont you even know half of what even happened....how many stock splits...what were the dividends....

Dont talk stocks cause you obviously dont know what you are talking about...

INTC also pays a dividend, the other co. doesnt. They cant afford to.

Wow, it's difficult to reply to post such as yours, as I really don't have to time to give you any kind of an education. But here we go.

Fisrt part: I'd much rather have the 6% decline versus the 30% decline of AMD, or the 10% decline of the broader market.

Second part: Intel stock has outperformed AMD over the last five years.

Third part: While I'm not doing the complete math, Intel total return over the last 20 years has been somewhere north of 2,000%.

Dont talk stocks cause you obviously dont know what you are talking about

I'm extremly confident that I know a far greater amout than you about financial markets.

Just wanted to bump this thread to make note that today is the first day in a long while that INTC closed higher than AMD. AMD has dropped over 50% YTD and is now at $17.39 a share while INTC has dipped around 30% and sits at $17.48. Looks like your preditiction was off by a few quarters Duvie... but the news isn't really so stellar for shareholders of either company... both are in a world of hurt, AMD has just been taking a worse beating.
