RESOLVED! Their son was able to open the bed cover, however no key was found in that area, but we were able to find a hidden key behind the license plate frame on the front of the truck. NOW, let me address the other recommendations provided. The Key is not chipped and the same key works ignition, doors, and tailgate. The dealer is not able to help since the cutoff for keys is the 2006 model. Each year the cutoff slides one year forward so next year you will not be able to get a 2006 key and so forth. Seems that locksmithing is a dying art as we live about 35 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, but was surprised at how few locksmiths are left. For future reference, some locksmiths can get the key codes from the VIN and cut new keys. Also by contacting their insurance co the family was told to send them the bill for locksmithings svs and the ins co would see what they could/would do about reimbursement for the services. The AAA recommendation is an excellent idea too. Thank you so very much for all the views and the valuable recommendations all of you took the trouble to post. The fact that this forum has so many really good hearted folks that want help when needed is the main reason I read some of these topics daily. While obviously not a big poster, I learn a tremendous amount of knowledge from all of you. THANKS
