Keyboard issues

I am in the process of building a new computer (my first). I recently had issues with the PSU not working, but I got that fixed. Now I am having issues with the keyboard not working.


The computer loads into the motherboard default screen, but when I press "del" to try to go into the CMOS, nothing happens.

Now something interesting is that the keyboard lights never even light up, indiciating there isn't even power going to the keyboard.

The guy at ASUS said I should RMA the motherboard and get a new one. However, I am not so trusty of ASUS at this point because they have mislead me before out of what seems like laziness.

Any suggestions? Do I really have a faulty mobo?

are you plugging the kboard in through USB ?.......with some BIOS you have to tell it to see a USB keyboard or just plug your keyboard in w/ the regular PS2 plug. Try that and let us know.

drat, that would of been too easy

try just troubleshooting the keyboard...like plug it into another computer or plug another keyboard into your computer and try to isolate the problem

if the keyboard works in another computer then ASUS is prob right
if another keyboard works fine in your computer then your original keyboard is jacked
