KG7-Raid Issue?

I'm not sure if this is actually the motherboards fault, but it seems like the most reasonable component to look at first...

I built a system for a friend, and loaded WinXp Pro on it.. After a few hours of running, installing drivers and what not, he gets the following message when loading:
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemROOT\system32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

There seems to be neither rhyme nor reason to this, as it once happened after installing Office, once after installing his Audigy drivers, etc. etc. It doesn't seem to occur after any particular software installation, so I'm wondering if it's some sort of data corruption as a result of running RAID-0.

The system is:
Abit KG7-Raid (running in RAID-0)
AMD XP 1600
2x60 Gig Seagate Barracuda IV
256 megs micron DDR
Leadtek GF3 Ti200
SB Audigy Value

Any ideas? System temperature seems to be ok (I'm not an AMD user myself but from what I understand 45' celcius is fine, and it's not overclocked)

Motherboards is a good forum to post in, but General Hardware gets so many more visitors. Maybe they can offer help

Sorry, I can't. I wouldn't advise trying a non-raid config, because that would take too long (unless you have spare HDDs lying around). It is possible that this is the fault of the raid setup or one/both of the HDDs.
