I play many variety of games...fable, ME, FPS, RTS, MMORPG, Final fantasy series. Is it a good game ?
And I still prefer Heroes of Might & Magic 3 and Disciples 2 for TBS games. Even though they are 2D they still rock.
Also, you guys may wanna check out Etherlords 2, if you can find it.
Looks to be more of the same truth be told, but I guess that's why they call it "Expansion"!
Any reason why you liked the original more than AP Borealis7? Just curious since I thought the original game had a better (albeit humorous) storyline than AP. I think I just burned out on AP since it was really more of the same stuff, but the game felt a bit more polished and streamlined. (Dragon didn't hurt either)

i liked the Rage spirits better than the Dragon, and the original was far more challenging. i remember how hard it was for me to play the demon realm in the original because i was a mage and my main spell was fireball at the time (before i had the ice dragon spell or that water spell that lifts everyone up).
Flying horse makes everything easier but it was fun and saved a lot of time, and perhaps it was just the feeling of a "first experience" that the 2nd game obviously cant provide.
For some reason whenever a company releases a 2nd game with the exact same engine and gameplay, they dont like actually calling it another game. They call it a "standalone expansion". FEAR Perseus Mandate was the same deal. And Serious Sam 1, 1st and 2nd Encounter.
Personally, for games I love I with they would just keep releasing more and more with the same engine until enough time goes by they HAVE to use a new engine.
This whole "every game needs its own brand new engine" concept is bullshit. And its especially bad with shooters.
But I digress.
Doom 2 WAS a standalone expansion. Exact same engine, most of the same textures and models, and more missions that were basically the same. And because it came out right away people wanted it and it was successful. So Doom 2 should have been a stand alone expansion.
That stand-alone expansion thing is kind of wierd. Although the development costs are much lower, so the lowered price appears justified.
