Kingston HyperX PC4000 labeled as PC3200 ?

In CPU-Z, my PC4000 RAM shows up as PC3200, however I am able to run the memory at 250MHz. I've heard from a co-worker that HyperX PC4000 is just overclocked PC3200 RAM. I have a friend who has PC4000 ram that shows up as PC4000 under CPU-Z. He has the same motherboard as me. Can anyone with HyperX memory verify this?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to run my system stable with a 1:1 ratio at 250 even though I increased the CPU voltage by .50v and increased the memory voltage from 2.6v to 2.75v. Currently, I can run it stable at 225MHz.

btw, I've noticed the price on PC4000 jump recently - I had purchased a stick of 512 for about $110 about 6 months ago, yet now I see that the PC4000 is selling for around $190 these days.

I'm using an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe and a P4 2.4C. I bought 2 sticks of 512MB PC4000 off eBay for $210. It's labeled as PC4000 but now I'm questioning my purchase. I can run Prime95 stable for over 12 hours at stock speeds so I never bothered to run memtest.

I wouldn't be surprised if memory, like similar hard drives and processors, are for the most part, identical. If they don't pass the higher qualification tests, they're simply labled as a lesser.

is there a JEDEC PC4000 standard? i don't think there is.

all ram over pc3200 is overclocked ram,since there is no jedec standard above pc3200 cpu-z identified it correctly as pc3200 ram.

Dont worry about it.

There isn't--JEDEC only goes up to PC3200. CPU-Z probably only has those official specifications in its database.

My friend has the same motherboard (Asus P4P800-E Deluxe) and memory as me, however in CPU-Z his memory shows up as PC4000 whereas mine shows up as PC3200. We're both using the same version of CPU-Z. That just seems strange to me.
