Seriously? People still don't understand what MTBF means? It has no relevance to one drive. It only applies to very large groups of drives, typically the entire line. If you have one million drives running, you should expect one to fail every hour. It also only applies within the service life of the drive which is typically 5 years. So if you are using only one drive, if you replace it with a new one every 5 years, you should exect one drive failure every 115 years which translates to slightly more than a 4% failure rate.

Assuming a leap year every 4 years or so and if you live a little beyond your 114th birthday, maybe - but it seems that in general, our new ssd overlords (who I personally wish to warmly welcome) have a longer mtbf than humans in developed countries.

if its not awesome I'm sure it can wait till I feel like buying a new gen drive
