Not everyone wants to buy "REAL SPEAKERS" for their computer.
I own a POS Klipchs 4.1 and I 'll tell ya they sound awsome!!
I for one think that my Klipchs were an excellent buy.

And how much money are you willing to spend to connect HT speakers to your computer? I'm sure you know it's not just as easy as connecting HT speakers to the minijacks on the back of a sound card. Also note that the higher-end multimedia speaker systems sound just as good as most of the middle-of-the-road HT in a box set ups (again, given the equipment needed to use computer speakers on a computer and equipment needed to use home speakers on a computer).

well, for being a 23 year old grad student, i have what i consider a pretty good setup. i have a denon avr-3803, and a 5.1 paradigm setup along with 2 other paradigms to make a 7.1 that all told i spent more than $3000 for. I would consider that substantially better than any computer speaker setup. then again, i wouldn't watch a movie on my computer anyway. i have a standalone dvd player for that. but, if the moment comes that i actually would want to use the sound on my computer, i want it to sound as good as possible. good, of course, is in the eye of the beholder, but i have never heard a set of computer speakers (especially the klipsch's- way way too bright) that would suit my needs.

Maybe if Klipsch put out a $3,000 computer speaker setup, it would rival a nicer HT setup. For ~$350 or so, Klipsch puts out a pretty nice setup. If one were to use their computer as a main DVD/Media player in a large room, getting a nicer HT setup would make sense. But tell me where you're going to get a better sounding setup for the PC for $350. That much would barely cover a nice receiver, and by no means any interconnects and speakers.

EDIT: And have a cookie for being a grad-student and having a fancy HT setup.

Yes, but along the same lines, there's no cause to rip on the people who don't need to spend more than $350 on computer speakers.

Just because you need $3000 ones, doesn't mean that everone needs them or could even tell the difference for what they do. Why slam on people who don't need the same?

thank you for your insight captain obvious

someone who is posting about z680s and klipsch 5.1s most likely DO NOT have $3000 to spend on speakers, the original poster was just providing us with some info about a new product.

it was more like a "klipcshs suck... har har my speakers are way better than yours cuz they cost more" post

I dont know how you can say Klipsch's suck. I have heard them and they are truely kick ass computer speakers, of course they wont compare to $3000+ setup but they are awesome for the price. That bass is amazing.

Just my input.

i didnt mean that by any means....cost isnt necessarily indicative of quality. a sterling example of that is bose. while it may have appeared kind of abrasive it wasnt my intention. i just meant that real speakers are better. maybe my testes are differnt from others, and thats fine. variety is a good thing. bu ti just still do not see the merits of computesr speakers..but thats just me.

Klipsch speakers are truly awsome... And for those of you who say Klipsch is crap... maybe you should try klipsch's high end offerings, you do know they make non-computer related sound equipment, right?

And their computer speakers are unrivaled... as others say, show me a nicer setup for $350 bucks... and for the guy w/ the $3000 dollar sound system... why would you hook such a great sound system up to such a crappy computer? I mean, that computer is total crap, I'm a 29 year old system's analyst, and my $3000 computer is sooooo much better.... See what you sound like? Ass.

My Klipsch PM 5.1s are great for DVD's and really good for music, how someone could call them "crap" simply astounds me. Enjoying my $450US "crap" speakers!

No one is saying Klipsch sucks. When they say Klipsch they always mean the Promedia's when talking about PC audio. The Promedia's are crap when compared to speakers they aren't intended to compete with.

Creative Megaworks have a much smoother well balanced sound to me than the Promedia's, and they even cost less.

Klipsch are horrible.

I rest my case.

Those look cool, these would be a nice upgrade from my old klipsch 4.1's. The real stereo is in the living room, these speakers are for the computer. I dont understand why someone would spend $3k for computer speakers. My home theater setup is close to that.

What's interesting about Klipsch is that everyone regards them as the best computer speaker on the market. Maybe i've just had bad luck with them, but i'm on my 3rd set of promedia 4.1s, and i'm having the same problem i had with the first two sets. tomorrow night when i get a chance i'm going to switch out my sound card for another one and test the 4.1s to see if i still get static. if i do, it seems that the amp in the sub went bad for the third time. by the way, this isn't the same set of speakers repaired twice. i exchanged the old ones for a brand new set each time. What's also interesting is that, despite my problems, i still in a sense agree that they are the best computer speaker out there, because for the short period of time they did work for me, their sound quality was unmatched by any other computer speaker available.
