I'm sure you know it's not just as easy as connecting HT speakers to the minijacks on the back of a sound card. Also note that the higher-end multimedia speaker systems sound just as good as most of the middle-of-the-road HT in a box set ups (again, given the equipment needed to use computer speakers on a computer and equipment needed to use home speakers on a computer).

well, for being a 23 year old grad student, i have what i consider a pretty good setup. i have a denon avr-3803, and a 5.1 paradigm setup along with 2 other paradigms to make a 7.1 that all told i spent more than $3000 for. I would consider that substantially better than any computer speaker setup. then again, i wouldn't watch a movie on my computer anyway. i have a standalone dvd player for that. but, if the moment comes that i actually would want to use the sound on my computer, i want it to sound as good as possible. good, of course, is in the eye of the beholder, but i have never heard a set of computer speakers (especially the klipsch's- way way too bright) that would suit my needs.

Klipsch speakers are truly awsome... And for those of you who say Klipsch is crap... maybe you should try klipsch's high end offerings, you do know they make non-computer related sound equipment, right?
And their computer speakers are unrivaled... as others say, show me a nicer setup for $350 bucks...
No one is saying Klipsch sucks. When they say Klipsch they always mean the Promedia's when talking about PC audio. The Promedia's are crap when compared to speakers they aren't intended to compete with.

I mean, that computer is total crap, I'm a 29 year old system's analyst, and my $3000 computer is sooooo much better.... See what you sound like? Ass.
