8KHA has the KT266 chipset. 8KHA+ has the newer, faster KT266a chipset.

Now let's get back to the focus of this thread. How is everyone making out with overclocking the KR7A-RAID??? I saw it at a show today for $165, but with the lack of user reports on it, I passed (I know...I'll probably regret it).

no matter where i look the pci frequency is missing, where it should be in sandra there is just a blank space. no matter what its running at, it is indeed running. i would reccomend this board to anyone whoes looking to upgrade. while the epox and shuttle offer "comperable" performance to this, u simply can not beat an abit when it comes to performance and features, thats all there is to it. the asus board is also a beautiful board, but considering that it uses the promise raid controller rather than the highpoint, the abit is superior in my eyes, but not by far. speaking of the abit does anyone know how well that is overclocking ?

I ordered mine Today, expect it Wednseday, can't wait.
Will go with my new Athlon XP 1900 and SB Audigy X-Gamer
I will unlock my processor, I bought the retail as I need an extra fan anyway for another box.
Looks impressive, I just hope Abit got it together a bit better as the review I read I didn't like the QC.
Can always RMA though

at least show some WCPU screen shots just to prove that you really have that high.

I don't belive him... I think he's misreading something, NO ONE can get 188mhz fsb stable unless they're using PC2400 or PC2700 and super cooling. The KT266A chipset does not like anything above about 155mhz.

Again, post a WCPUID screenshot... untill then, I say nonsense.

194mhz fsb??? Belive me, he was lying. Think about it, the knowledge required to hit 194mhz fsb would certainly make you smart enough to know how to take a screenshot of WCPUID for proof.

Anytime you hit anything above 170 you are entitled to major bragging rights... hitting 194mhz would put you into the top 1% of all time overclockers. A major feat.

As for Acidpad, his memory scores are not very good... I get better scores with my Soyo Plus at 133mhz conservitive settings. If he's really at 188mhz his memory scoers ahould be atleast 35% more then they are.

All in all, if Acidpad can post a WCPUID screenshot proving he can hit 188mhz then he will be in my book as one of the greatest overclockers of all time. Untill then, he's just another 14 year old kid who gets his rocks off lying about his "computer ability".

I might come off sounding angry, but aren't you all tired of the amount of liers out there?

Well I just purchased one of these suckers from Newegg this morning. I am hoping for big numbers.

As far as high FSB's on it. Check out this thread -- Link. Thse O/C gods have gotten this board to 200 FSB and run 3dMark2k1 and the like. And they posted WCPUiD screeies to boot.

Enjoy the read. This definately looks like it will be the "the" KT266a board. Even at the same FSB's the board appears to bench significantly faster than the Epox.

True... it has hit high fsb's... but OPPAINTER is known to be one of the top around, I'd say in the top 10 overclockers on the internet. Look at his cooling setup... dual 200 watt peltier water chillers, he is known to put massive peltiers on his chipset, and even bigger ones on his cpu.

190+ fsb is possible... but, acidpad is using aircooling... this is why I do not beleive him.

Whoa! I picked up mine tonight. Local reseller friend of mine sold it to me for a mere $192. Doh! Ah, but I'm in Alaska, and there is no Ground Shipping here, so it's approximately what I would have paid for it from Newegg or what have you, since I'd have to choose 2nd Day Air.... to Alaska no less.

I also picked up a Crucial CAS2.5 256MB PC2100 DDR stick.

Anyway, I haven't installed it yet, but I'll try to tomorrow. I have an Alpha PAL8045 with YS-Tech fan and a T'bird 1.4 266MHz FSB with the serial number that everyone likes... AYxxx something or other. Or at least the guy that sold it to me said it did, and I just said, "oh". Supposedly it's factory unlocked.

So. We'll see what kind of wincpuid I can post in here in a day or so.

What operating system are you using? I cannot get Windows XP Pro to install. I get BSOD's for different reasons each time. I was able to load Windows 2000 Pro no problem.

Thanks in advance.

yeah im running windows 2000 pro also, XP has severe raid problems, at least it did with my KT7A-Raid. if you are even thinking about running raid i reccomend that you stear clear of XP unless of corse you like reinstalling it a couple times a week. Windows 2000 pro runs flawlessly for me, if theres any other benchmarks / information that you guys want to know just ask.

I am real curious about your bios mem settings, AND the new sandra. Really, your mem results should be higher for that FSB, even at 8X. And I am amazed that pc2100 will accomodate that speed. I just bought a week 22 AYHJA - Y 1.33, a 256 of "pc2700", and a 550 enermax. I was about to order the Abit board, but the 1/4 divider scared me off, and got me lookin at the Iwill xp333, and the Asus A&V266-e. I also looked at the MSI, but I wasn't impressed with it either. It appeared to be limited to 164 / 43 - period. If the Abit would allow a 1/5 or 1/6, I would have ordered it already, being an avid Abit fan. Does anyone know anything about the divider, and what governs it??? I wonder if a bios change later would allow the 1/5 & 1/6, or if the chipset won't allow it?

Could you specifiy what sort of RAM are you using? Because it's strange that you didn't list it up there.

He is using micron pc2100 / 256mb. Now I wonder why I bothered with the $69.00 PC2700? Hell, for that matter, why would anyone??
