So I am shopping for a new daily driver (dreaming) and look online at Murcielagos. Can anyone verify for me that the interior is really as hideous as the pictures show? If I am dropping $150,000+ for a car, the interior better be amazing. But from what I can tell, you get a crappy looking center console with a plastic cutout for a single din radio rebadged with "Lamborghini" written on it. Yes, I understand the car is all about performance, but give me a break!

As for other cars in the similar price range for daily drivers, I think the RS6 Avant/Estate/Wagon looks AMAZING! Twin turbo V10... now that's what I call green!

Probably Lambo bets on the fact that most people interested in their cars wouldn't be humping the console.

In what world is an RS6 in a "similar price range" to a Murcielago? Is it the same alternate universe where a Murcielago is a daily driver? What is the weekend car, a Le Mans P1 racer?

Fully loaded New RS 6 Saloon: $145,000 (per the UK site)

Used 2003 Murcielago: $190,000 (per the "local" lambo dealer)

I think the OP was probably thinking of the price of the Gallardo, which is a LOT cheaper (than the Murc), and reasonably in the range of $120k+ cars. Typically the type of person who can afford a $120k car can also afford a $200k car if they choose. In other words, someone who can eat a $6k monthly payment should also be able to eat a $9k payment, if they can't, they shouldn't be driving either car.

Ferrari 599GTB?

Get one used? Aston Martin DBS has great quality, I know from personal experience. But unfortunately, the 6.0 V12 is producing only 510 bhp. You could buy one used and turbo/supercharge it.

You want a $150K - 200K sports car with a great interior.

R8 - sure the driving experience is on the soft side and a tad numb but damnit its got great seats!

Continental GT - perhaps you want yours painted in pink like Paris Hiltons?

you have a point about the center console, the nav is all the way at the bottom, htf do you even look at it while driving

They realized at 207mph, looking at the dash is overrated anyways?

The Lambo is not a GT car. If you want a fast GTish supercar, get a Merc/laren SLR. You hav to remember, the Murcielago descended from the Countach and Diablo. It's not a comfort cruiser, even the name is painful to pronounce.

Looks functional to me. I like the minimalistic approach to interiors in Lamborghinis. It's all about driving the car.

It's actually refreshing to have so little to distract the driver. The only thing I don't like about it is the old fashioned looking DIN slot radio.

Um, the MSRP for a new Murcielago is more like $350k

I agree with this. At that kind of price point, you'd better get something a lot nicer than that. And I am FAR from a dash stroker - in fact, the interior is pretty far down on the priority list for me in terms of what I consider when I look at cars. With that said, however, the center stack in the linked pic looks like that of a poorly put together kit car that uncle Fred cobbled together in his garage. Not something that would be found in even a $13k econobox, and CERTAINLY not something you'd find in a supercar costing over 1/3 of a million dollars.

I find it funny that people on these forums will rip the $48k Corvette all day long for having a crappy interior, but a car with a base MSRP coming in at over 7x that of the base Corvette gets a pass just because it says Lamborghini on it.

The only thing wrong with it is the Single DIN slot. The interior is pretty nice, if a little utilitarian, apart from that.

I think the moral of the story is don't be a cheap ass and get the Sat Nav option.

Jesus christ. I'm lucky enough to have driven one for a few minutes, and the interior is fine. Its completely empty and simple, which is the point of the car. Theres no unessisary cushion or frilly interior junk, you press the gas flip the paddle shifters and go like hell.

This thread makes me want to die.

Well the nice thing about the DIN slot is you can put whatever head unit you want in there, not be stuck with the OEM one. That's what irks me about a lot of today's vehicles is you can't put aftermarket head units in too easily.

It's minimalistic, but you definitely chose the least flattering picture you could find. It's really not that bad.

Yep, take any picture of a dash with the camera flash and it's going to look like shit cause the flash tends to enhance all the dirt, dust and fingerprints. Take it with good or natural lighting and it'll look like a totally different dash.

Yeah, there's no fancy console. Not much stuff in the middle. It's not adorned with all kinds of flashy lights and tech gadgets...

...but guys, with no back seat, where else did they expect you to suggest you go with the chicks you pick up in that car? Hey baby, my center console is padded...
