LAN fails in Win2k

Hi,

I have a problem with the LAN on my Win2K box (well one of them). I will be happily using the internet when all of the sudden it will act as if the connection has dropped.
All the other PCs can access the internet fine via the router but on this on all I get is "no connection" in IE.

Any ideas? If you need more info about the system just ask.

Are you using a hub or using the router to connect the multiple machines together ?>

I have a Nokia M1122 DSL Router with an in built 10mbit hub. It has Bridge, DHCP, NAPT etc etc.

All the PCs run DHCP and connect directly to the Nokia router.

did you try it without the router. if i'ts work than you know the problem

1. try to delete all the network stuff, restart and install it again.
2. do you have firewall on the system?
3. check the connection setting on the ie,
4. how about other internet programs, is it working?(irc, messengger, etc)

Also try just resetting your IP address. You can use ipconfig thru the command line:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Use "ipfonig /?" for more info. Also, try resetting your router. Sometimes that helps on my Netgear router when it's acting up. If all that doesn't work try resetting your internet connection, ie unplug your cable/dsl modem.

Make sure you've the the correct default gateway in your IP settings.

Try to ping the loopback (127.0.0.1)
Try to ping your local IP address.
Try to ping another machine on your network by IP address.
Try to ping your gateway's IP address.
Try to ping an IP address outside your network (www.yahoo.com is 204.71.202.160)
Try to ping www.yahoo.com by name

Do it in that order, and let us know which step is the first to fail.
