Laptop - 1 year old Acer 4741G i3-380M.
Old TIM: Throttling in Cinebench 11.5, 80+ C
New AS5: No more throttling in Cinebench! Hottest core max temp = 76C
Some thoughts:
1. This laptop requires a FULL disassembly to access the HSF and CPU/GPU as there is no access panel that allows direct access to them. If you are looking for a new laptop I recommend finding one with it, especially if you intend to use it after the warranty period.
2. A service manual is strongly recommended for disassembling.
3. You need to be EXTRA careful if you are doing a full disassembly like me. Lots of small fragile latches/cables to break + tons of different screws to lose. If you are unsure of your self, don't do it. I broke the taping on this laptop HDD bracket, thankfully its just cosmetic.
4. Needless to say you will be voiding your warranty.
