laptop to desktop file transfer

i set up a wireless network in my house. 1 desktop and 1 laptop.

desktop 1
xphome w/sp1

laptop
xp pro

i have done wired networks before and can see all the pcs set up and can use shared files... no prob

now i have ventured into this whole "wireless thing" and i can't seem to transfer files between my laptop and my desktop... actually i can't even see me laptop when i'm using my desktop in my network places and vice versa... are wireless connections different then wired ones? do i need third party software installed on both to get this to work?

Wireless is just a replacement to the Wire every thing should work.

Something in the settings changed when you installed the Wireless, Go over the Sharing Slowly.
