Hey guys, I was referred to this forum by a good friend of mine said you guys/girls knew what you were doing and I'm having some trouble deciding on what do to here's my problem. I have 2 computers. I listed the specs below:

Dell XPS Studio:
Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @280(8 CPUs)~ 2.8GHz
Memory(RAM): 8.00 Gigs
Hard-drive: 1 Terabit Barracuda drive @7200 RPM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 series (No further specifications)
Direct_X: Dx11 compatible

Alienware m17x R2:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core(TM) i5 CPU M540 @2.53GH
Memory(RAM): 8.00 Gigs
Hard-drive(s): Two 512 Gigs (RAID Setup) unknown RPM can not find it.
Video Card(s): Dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 each having 1 gig dedicated.
Direct_X: Dx11 Compatible

So i have these 2 computers for roughly a year and BF3 is around the corner. I know that the exact system reqs are not out yet but these are the most recent from BF3alpha.battlefield.com:

Battlefield 3 Reqs:
OS: Windows 7 or Vista (SP1)
Installed: Origin
CPU: Quadcore @ 2.0 GHz or faster
RAM: 4GB or more
Hard Drive: 7.25 GB free disk space
Video: 256 MB or greater
DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card with latest drivers (AMD 11.5 or later, nVidia 275.33 or later)
Sound: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card
Internet: broadband connection

Now I understand we have to wait to see what happens but I was just wondering if i could get some answers. Out those 2 Computers would BF3 run the best. On BFBC2 the laptop has like a 15 second delay at the start of every match. Which is making me uncomfortable with it's ability to run BF3. On the other hand I feel on the Desktop the video card isn't up to par with what the game needs. Thank you in advance for the help.

sounds like the laptop would run better, as it has better video cards, and looks to have 2 ssd drives.

the only issue would be heat and you may not like the keyboard.

Both systems would be able to play the game, however you may want to bump the graphics on the pc if you are planning on playing at highest settings.

Laptop should be faster, no idea why you are getting the 15 second delay. What do you mean by this exactly? 15 seconds with nothing at all or 15 seconds where you are lagging?

like 15 seconds of FPS less then 10 sorry.

That might be a Crossfire or driver issue. Try updating your drivers from AMD's website and see what happens. By all accounts the notebook should be just as quick to load up and get to a playable state as the desktop and framerates should be higher.

I believe you would look for the CAP driver. That's the one that has the Crossfire Application Profiles in it.
