LCD Native Resolution Issue

I've got a GFFX5700LE with DVI, and so far I'm only able to attain 1024x768 with my CTX 17" LCD through DVI! If I try for the native resolution of 1280x1024, the screen just blanks, even though everything is right, including the 60 Hz refresh rate. I've read the manuals, and it all should work, but I've got no clue why it doesn't!

Also, whenever I have DVI connected when I boot up my computer, the LCD monitor only gets a picture when I get into Windows, which forces me to use the analog to get into the BIOS and stuff. Does anyone know of anything that could fix this situations and/or help me?

Thank you for your replies!

My video card does work in 1280x1024 in analog mode, and I have installed the latest nvidia and ctx drivers.

I checked my problem with trying to get into the BIOS and found that I was getting the following error:

Signal Out of Range
H:63.9KHz V:6553.5Hz
Mode should be below ...
1280x1024 75Hz

This looks to be a video card problem, wouldn't you say? Maybe the video card is incapable of displaying 1280x1024 at the refresh rate the monitor wants it to? Just to make sure though, do you guys have any idea as to if it could be something else?

It looks as if I'm gonna have to RMA my video card.

could very well be a cheap DVI chip on the video card. Nvidia boards are totally up to the manufacturer. What brand is it? If it's not one of the big ones, then I'd definately suspect it's the card.

I am trying 1280x1024 at 60Hz, as that's what the nVidia software limits you to with DVI, and that's the only supported mode. Still doesn't work though, so I guess I'm going to have to RMA it then.

I am experiencing similar issues. I don't get any thing on my screen until entering Windows.
I use a Apple LCD, I originally thought this was an Apple LCD PC compatibility issue, but looks like it is not.
I use a BFG 6800 GT now. My previous card, BFG 5950 Ultra did not have this type of problem.
I thought all the nVidia high-end cards use the same Silicon Image TMDS chip.
I called BFG about it, they said they have heard of similar issues but they think there is nothing wrong with their cards, it is more of a BIOS issue which nVidia is working on.
