I'm left handed, and I don't understand how anyone can use a left handed mouse. I've tried, and it is just more inconvenient then using a right handed one. I think to use it properly you would have to have a left handed keyboard to go with it, and that would take a LOT of work to get use to.

Can't southpaws reverse the two main keys so that the execute is under the left index finger and the menu system under the left middle digit?

They have ambidextrous gaming mice. People crucified EpicSurvivor for posting a ebay link, but here is that thread. Razer has other options, Logitech has the G300 and SteelSeries has a few to choose from as well.

Right handed mice feel awful used in left hand. Ambidextrous work alright. If I'm buying a new one might as well make it left handed.

That usually depends on the Desktop Manager, i.e. software. The other issue is that strongly shaped mice are biased. Symmetric shape is much easier. I've never noticed left-shaped mice on shops, but apparently they do exist.

I've seen many users in office to shift their mouse (shaped or not) to the left side, but the users rather learn to use the new way than swap the buttons. Myself, I had to shift too (a symmetric MS mouse) due to shoulder problems, but I did reverse buttons. Now it is an effort to use someone else's left-side desktop, for my left hand expects "symmetry".

Thanks, mv2devnull - that is a good explanation. Since I have only used symmetrical mice, I did not appreciate biased shapes favored by gamers. My experience has always been to make the changes in Windows.

My mom is wired weird in the head, and though shes right handed and uses a normal mouse, she has to turn the mouse upside down, and hold it in a claw grip.

All movements are reversed though. Back becomes up, right left, etc.

Was she a pilot?

Wjat does she use for buttons? If she holds it upside down in a claw, they are against the heel of her hand.

She just gribs the edge, so she can still get buttons. It does take some patience though when I say right click and she left clicks.

And no she wasn't a pilot.

Just boggles my mind though.

That's amazing. Everything else she does has to be the right way up though.

Isn't there some software that will reverse the directions so she can hold the mouse normally?
