Less than a year after the first one...I was expecting Valve to continue to support L4D and expand it as they have done with TF2. I dunno, I need to see more info about it.

I know quite a few people paid 50 bucks for it when it first came thinking that Valve would continue to support it. I know they have added some things to it but I guess I was spoiled by TF 2 . Need to details though to see if its actually worth paying for again.

Well, I paid $50 for it and would like more content. Thankfully, it was a very good game so I don't feel too slighted, but I'll probably wait for the inevitable price drop on this one.

IMO I don't think we need a second one just yet. All we need is more content(whether its free or you have to pay for it) because the first one is still really good. What I think we do need is Half-Life 2: Episode 3

Wow..releasing a sequel only a year after the original?

Everyone's main critcism with Left4Dead was t hat it didn't have enough content, but fans kept saying "they'll add more - just look at TF2!".

Now they drop a sequel on us...

Heh..only a year after the original at that. You'd think they'd at least make it DLC or an expansion rather than probably making us pay full price again for half a game.

L4D was boring and samey all too quickly. Plus it uses Steam (obviously).
Given that this is what the original probably should have been more like, and it will again use Steam (obviously), I'm not even going to touch it since I've already wasted my money once.

yeah, I'm having a really hard time believing this, this is Valve after all (ie the company that takes its sweet time)...

hopefully the whole sequel thing is a joke, and that this is really just a huge DLC update

this game is just way too soon and I can only see it splitting the community if its a stand alone sequel

man, that sucks. I got the game early and paid full value(stupid). If they charge full retail, there is no way I get this game. I mean, less than a year after L4D came out. I can always hope they somehow give discounts to those of us who already have the original otherwise yes, I agree with the point that it will split the community.

OR perhaps some sort of awesome "Green Box" deal where they include L4D, L4D2, HL and all its eps (hopefully including 3) etc... THEN we'd be cooking

seems way too early for a sequel

surprised that Valve is taking the route of milking the franchise instead of supporting it with updates

that would be awesome if it was a huge content upgrade. seems unlikely but i wouldn't put it past valve.

Exactly. Give me my HL episodes that you promised would be released "yearly".

Yea this sucks. L4D was released with little content, months after finally got more content but that still got boring after a while, now a year later they release a whole new game??? WTF is this crap. I'm not going to be buying this until they have a 50% weekend deal on it. I was pissed at how L4D got boring after a short while cus of the lack of content and I preordered it through Steam so paid $45 for it, and would be hoping much more stuff is coming out.

Freakin eh - I still haven't played more than 15 minutes of the first one. Rather than working on L4D2 - Why not work on getting Half Life 2 episode 3 out the door?

This is great news!!! Apparently I'm in the minority here, sorry that the tons of posters above me have not shared my experience with this incredible game.

According to my stats I'm at 190 hours play time, my original investment of $50 has far exceeded my expectations for cost of entertainment per hour.

Such bullshit, i bought the 1st l4d and it had very little content... this l4d 2 looks like it should be an update to the original l4d... good job screwing over your customers valve

The first game is ok, but it is having a tough time stealing me away from TF2, so I can't imagine I will be buying the sequel. I really only play it if someone invites me to play through Steam, or if I have an overwhelming desire to kill zombies, which does happen on occasion.

Seems unlike Valve to release a sequel so soon.

Jeez... For 190 hours you should be godly at it...

Not going to buy the second one. Not going to buy into that fucking hype again.
